The Spring Tournament at the GLC has been posted. www.greatlakescenter.com I thought Wisconsin was going to play in this. Who do you think wins the Gold?

Wisconsin pulled out due to injuries to Jeffers and DuPont and Salow having mono (I think). they would have only had 2 outsides and 3 middles to play the whole day. Not worth risking more injuries for just a spring tournament.
This is a great event though - I went a few years ago and it's very well run and lots of good teams are there.

I would venture that 2 outsides and 3 middles is about par for spring ball. Often, teams will play defensive specialist in the front row. What about the Buckeyes? I thought they were in this tournament. TOSU only loses a senior setter and outside hitter. Looks like Texas will walk through this thing.

Anybody know if Brandy McGee is playing this Spring? ACL rehab from surgery to nearly full playing strength is typically 10-12 months, so I doubt Magee is going to see any action until summer two-a-days. I think there was a thread on their matches against Notre Dame a couple weeks ago; I can't remember if anyone mentioned her playing or not.

I wouldn't hold my breath about Texas walking thru this tournament. Magee will not participate; both Hooker and Feist have been hobbled by injuries this spring. Texas used Todd during the ND scrimmages because Feist could not play. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I'm looking forward to seeing the games! I have never been to the GLC.
I know I won't make it by 8am, though. Do I have to worry about not being able to get in because it is sold out?

I'm thinking about going. The only thing that is holding me back is that the place isn't that big in terms of being a spectator. They have only a few places to view the games. I'm afraid that its going to be very crowded there. Ohh well, I should go, I mean I only live 10 min away from GLC.

The previous poster must be thinking about the old GLC in West Chicago. The new location at 579 N. Oakhurst Dr. Aurora, IL 60502 has plenty of viewing for spectators both upstairs and downstairs.

OH, good. I was wondering what the seating would be like! We gain an hour, so maybe I can make it by the 10am Purdue game?

I'm staying with my sis-in-law in Aurora Friday night, so no problems getting there early.
So who's all going?

I played club at spri in HS and have played at the new facility. The space has grown by two courts and just a little more space up on top. Still not alot of spectator space. However the new facility is the best of any volleyball facility I've seen in the country.

Anyone know anything about the adult team that's playing, TPC. I remember they played last year and did well. I guess one of the teams has an issue with playing them.

The 8 teams advancing to the Gold bracket are Georgia Tech, Virginia, Marquette, Creighton, Michigan State, Michigan, Dayton, and K-State. As someone that follows the Valley and the Big 12 glad to see the Jays looking good.

If someone gives me some Michigan State updates (i.e. who is setting and playing libero) then I will give them a partially eaten gummy bear.
