A very interesting turn of events. I am very surprised to see Florida hosting twice in a row. It gives them a nice chance to get to the Final Four. Also a bit surprised they gave 2 Big 10 teams hosting opportunities. The big key will be where Nebraska will end up. Unlikely they will end up at Penn State or Stanford. From the looks of it now, Wisconsin is probably the best bet as they would be the weakest of the host schools. However, the NCAA seems to enjoy pitting Florida against Nebraska and it will depend who Florida performs in the season.

Should definitely be interesting to see how things unfold......looks like the Wisconsin choice was made just to order for a Nebraska trip to Sacramento....

aren't these the same hosts as 2004? From the Florida press release: The event will mark the ninth time in school history that Florida will host an NCAA volleyball regional (1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2006).

And I believe it was another Wisconsin school (Wisconsin-Green Bay) that was the host. When Hawaii took on Wisconsin, it was technically a neutral court. The host sites were Wisconsin-Green Bay, Washington, Minnesota, and Louisville.

Stanforfd could potentially host the first 4 rounds then drive the 120 miles to Sacramento for the Final 4. They should be very happy!

That Stanford regional could be brutal if they have 3 Pac-10 teams and Hawaii going there.

And the sport continues to become more and more of a joke. Either no one is willing to take on the expense, or fairness just isn't part of the equation.
Anyone else surprised Nebraska didn't get a regional? That the Big10 received two? That Florida gets back-to-backs? That God isn't doing something about The Cardinal?

It will be interesting to see if the NCAA will send any of the four host schools on the road for the first two rounds.

This is an outrage! I'm outraged!
...
not really. We got a regional in '03 and '05 and the Final Four in '06 and again in a couple years. We'll happily go to Madison. Stanford has to be licking their chops. Even if they're forced to travel for the first 2 rounds.

That Stanford regional could be brutal if they have 3 Pac-10 teams and Hawaii going there. They will spread out the Pac-10 teams. What chance Nebraska is put in this regional?
