Pretty underwhelming if you ask me. Non conference matches are @ Illinois State, @ Notre Dame, Georgia Southern, NC State, Santa Clara, Florida State, @ Utah, Yale(at LBSU), @ Long Beach. www.gatorzone.com/sched.php?sport=vollb

So we have a great senior class that has lots of experience, underclassmen who proved they're ready to step up, and probably are best chance at a National Championship and we prepare for it by that mess of a schedule? Bleh. This is why we fall apart in the tournament: we don't face tough competition consistently so we're not conditioned to keep up with the powerhouses.

Santa Clara and LBSU will be no push over's.

Santa Clara and LBSU will be no push over's. Utah, had they not lost the two girls to transfer could have been interesting as well. Got to agree-----not a heavyweight on the menu. Doesn't seem to be the best way to prepare for the rigors of tournament play.

Not a great schedule from Florida. I am a bit surprised. They usually put up a pretty tough non-conference schedule. Utah was supposed to be pretty good, but they ran into some trouble with their players so they will not be a good as expected. Bigfan mentioned that Santa Clara and Long Beach won’t be push overs and Notre Dame should also be a pretty decent team. However, I don’t see a top 10 team on their schedule.
This won’t help them when it comes to the seeding. I can see them ending up as a fairly low seed without any good wins. Or worse yet, any loss on this schedule can’t be bolstered by any win. Florida could be in a bit of trouble. If Wisconsin performs fairly well, that might push them to a higher seed than Florida and the Gators may get to host the Huskers in their regional for a second straight yet.

Put this pastry schedule on top of a mediocre SEC and I don't think it benefits the Gators come tournament time.

Santa Clara and LBSU will be no push over's. I said we don't face tough competition consistently, meaning we face a few good teams but also a lot of subpar teams

I would be fine with this Seriously though, I'm guessing that Texas and Nebraska will be split amongst Florida and Wisconsin (since both UT and NU should be better than UW and UF), so either way it's not a nice out. However, the higher seed should get Texas at their site and the lower Nebraska. UW's out of conference schedule is pretty weak as well, but they have the benefit of playing in the big ten. If they pick up a couple big conference wins with relatively few conference losses and a perfect non-con schedule (which could/should happen) then Florida could definitely be ranked lower by the end of the season.

Texas should be another top team but obviously, Nebraska is the team to avoid. I think everyone is in agreement that on paper, the top teams will be Nebraska and Stanford. Wisconsin (and Florida) has the luxury of knowing they will probably completely avoid Stanford along with Penn State. And unless a bunch of upsets occur, they will still have to face a team like Texas, Washington, UCLA, Minnesota, or Hawaii in the NCAA tournament. Nebraska is one of the teams you would like to avoid as long as you can. I completely agree that Wisconsin can rely on their Big 10 schedule to get a higher seed than Florida. I hate to think this way, but the Gators may need to run undefeated to be considered for a high seed and avoid Nebraska. Wisconsin can afford a few loses if they can get a win over Big 10 teams like Penn State or Minnesota. For the Gators, what could be worse is that they end up like 2004 when Stanford came calling because they didn't end up as a seeded team.

Florida has a nice team returning, but they are a full level below the top 2-3 teams. Final Four would be great finish.
