This has put a serious crimp in my fun. I've been text messaging 2009s since last Summer.
I feel kinda bad, too, since I said I was Mick Haley...

Please do not steal the thunder of the "Michigan Wolverines Volleyball Recruits" thread.
Thank you.

Will this slow down the recruiting process or hinder it? It seems like the NCAA is taking away a form of communication in which the player or players parents are able to get to know coaches and staff's from various schools. It would be great to go back a few years and see all players take official visits and wait until the senior year to decide on a college. What will the NCAA ban next? Questionnaires?

I think it was just annoying for everyone involved. The NCAA did everyone a favor -- protected them from themselves.

I'm actually looking forward to when I'm 50 because there's a certain senior club I want to join and I have to be at least 50 to qualify. Why? They have the coolest facility: meeting rooms, weight room, swimming pool, all sorts of art classes for real cheap, etc.
But that's another 19 years of waiting for me...

I thought AARP was some senior association, not a club with a facility. What the bleepin' hell are you talkin' about Ruffda?

I agree with the action. If you want to know a kid or the family they can get on the phone and talk. What is wrong with using "earthly" language" and allowing somebody to express themselves like a real person should do. Anyway.....they still have e-mail, so what is the big deal? I do agree that we should go back to the old days, official visits and then comitt during your senior year. For sure the programs will have a better chance of getting a more mature kid regarding what she wants to do vs the ones today that have a long way to go. ESTRELLA
