The "official site" is a generic site (not sure who runs it), also do not know how items get posted on it. If anyone is familiar with this type of site let me know and maybe I can get some updates posted. The hosting is provided by fansonly, or the college sports network, or whatever the heck they call themselves now. It was FansOnly, then Official College Sports Network, and now College Sports TV. CSTV is now owned by CBS. All the way back to FansOnly, schools were offered money and programming resources as an incentive to join. XOS is probably their biggest rival in college athletic dept website hosting.

I made a request to have the schedule posted on the UCSB web site - here is the reply. "I have forwarded your request to media relations, I'm sure they will have it up as soon as they can. " Anyone want to make a prediction on when "soon as they can" will be?

It's only May. I bet they'll have it up mid-June, early July. They seem to be busy writing articles about baseball, softball, and track...and Todd Rogers...

This is off topic, I apologize, but can any of the Gaucho fans shed some light on how Stephanie Brandt performed last season? Strengths? Areas for improvement? Leadership on court?

Elite 8 is the farthest UCSB has ever made it.
As for Brandt, she did well. That term "leadership" is one that gets tossed around a bit carelessly in my opinion. Suffice it to say that she handled herself and her responsibilities well. With 3 seniors on the court, and Kathy Gregory yelling from the bench, how much "leadership" can you really expect out of a freshman setter? I guess she took charge enough, but for the love of pete, someone has to be the follower...
In terms of skills, it's hard to say. For one thing, our passing hasn't been so great in recent years, so how can we really judge her setting when she's chasing down so many shanked passes? Also, we seem to have fewer and fewer home games every season, so it kind of feels like we hardly got to see her at all.
I think most of us were very happy with her last year (particularly in comparison to what we had before she came) and are sorry to see her go.

Since Kristen, this past year was most improved in the back row and the middles great hitting percentages proved that. Stephanie is an athletic player with a killer serve but she was a freshman setter who did a good job. Fortunately, next season, SB will have a great setter.
