That's a really nice schedule. Notre Dame, Ohio, Utah State, Stanford, Cal, and San Deigo are all quality non-conference opponents that will prepare them well for the Big Ten and NCAA's.
It will also mean those freshman (or former bench-warmers) will have to get up to par pretty quick. I could see Minnesota going 5-1 in those matches... but they also could go 3-3 or worse.

Okay wiscvball you have peaked my curiousity.......5-1....who do they lose to? BTW - I think it's a very nice non-conference schedule and affords the opportunity to see some teams they might see at the end of the year.

They'll loose to Stanford and probably Cal.......Cal will be very good this year even with a freshmen setter, she could just throw the ball back or out......

Oh, BASTA! to all that. Stanford's not used to playing at altitude. They'll be puking like cats with hairballs by game 2.

Not to mention they'll have to become adjusted to the Minnesota restrooms. That's good for 5-10 points right there.

You would have thought that they would have progressed beyond the "hole in the floor" model restrooms, but with the recent lack of basketball and football success, I guess the athletic budget isn't too big right now.
It is too bad that the premier tournament is Labor Day weekend. I don't really want to miss Taste of Madison and the party in the park to make the journey to Minneapolis, but I will at least have a fallback option if it is going to rain.

I like this schedule. Competitive. Hosting Stanford, San Diego & Ohio early in the season gives Minnesota's high caliber recruits a chance to mesh. A trip to CA and then a softer home tourney as they gear up for the Big 10. Great job on the schedule and good luck in the Fall.
