www.dailynews.com/sports/ci_5937998When we were teens, we put on Coppertone the first couple of times out at the beach..Memorial Day weekend. After a medium sunburn, sometimes worse, we never even bothered much with the suntan oil for the rest of the summer. We said we had a 'base' established...and we sorta did. Fortunately 40 years later, my Scandinavian lightskinned family have had, thankfully, only a minimum of basal cell removals...but even more UV rays seem to be coming thru these days... tough choices and short careers likely...... to minimize....

Thanks for posting that very important stuff. That reminds me when I see Kathy Gregory and Nina Matthies on the bench I sure think they spent a little too much time in the sun during their playing days.

I remember a Coppertone Sport sunscreen commercial that featured men's volleyball players. The key point of the commercial was how it didn't run into the eyes.
As far as wrinkling and skin cancer goes, older suncreens didn't have the effective UVA protection that many modern sunscreens have. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are very good, as well as avobenzone and another sunscreen ingredient that's available in Europe.
