I think Hawaii is a good test, but not huge. They are very beatable.

I think Hawaii is a good test, but not huge. They are very beatable. Uh, did you see the Wolverine's pre-conference schedule last year? Western Kentucky Binghamton Wright State Toledo San Diego Iowa State California-Irvine Marquette Virginia Pacific Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne New Hampshire Rice And then they lose to Indiana in their home conference opener. A little more competition never hurt anyone.

Michigan is odd team out this year, right? That's tough.
Will having travel partners of Iowa/Minn and IL/ WI make for any easier weekends in the Big Ten this year? I think it will be better not having Minnesota/Wisconsin as travel partners.

Decent schedule. That Oxford weekend might make for some decent ball.

The best thing about Ann Arbor area is the Jolly Pumpkin Brewry in Drexel, Michigan, just outside of Ann Arbor.
Will someone please tell the Wolverine announcer that "Point, Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeechigan" is incredibly annoying and to come up with a new expression.

Not defending the lack of imagination exhibited by the Michigan announcer, but that "Point, HomeTeam!" call is ubiquitous throughout the country. And if it annoys the hell out of you, it is serving its purpose of annoying the non-partisans.

I find "Point, Hooooooooooome team!!" to be too impersonal. I prefer "Point, Oooooooooooour Team!!"

I think anyone who is still doing "Point Blaaaaah" is uncreative. And annoying.

I love OSU's announcer. Very energetic but not "listen to MEEEEEEE." He also does baseball (Columbus Clippers). Nebraska's guy was pretty good in the championship match (if he was the same ...). Most I've heard are pretty boring.

The best thing about Ann Arbor area is the Jolly Pumpkin Brewry in Drexel, Michigan, just outside of Ann Arbor. I liked Ann Arbor the only time I visited. It helped that the Badgers won the match that night, but it was a beautiful fall day and the campus/downtown area looked great. Also, the "No War 4 Oil" graffiti made me feel like I was at home. My favorite thing about it, other than the hole in the wall place where I ate on State Street, was the junk store north of campus (I forget the name). I got a 1982 Cardinals World Series button and a National Lampoon from the 1970s mocking Nixon from their random collection of stuff.

How about , "Point Hoo-Ha!", a la Al Pacino in A Scent Of A Woman. Come to think of it, I didn't really like that movie and all Pacino's "scenery chewing"; so forget that.
Then how about, "Point . . . You Sexy Thangs!"?
Even better, with apologies to the late, great Warren Zevon: "Point . . . aaah woooo, Wolverines of Arbor". That's my #1 recommendation.

The call of "Point, <my team>!" is part of the uniqueness of volleyball. You get the same in other sports from the "GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!' in Spanish soccer calls, to "he shoots, he scores!" in hockey, to "that ball is....outta here!" in baseball.
