I've voiced my opinion to both the Big Ten network people and to Time Warner cable. It's a "he said/she said" fight between them, and the consumer will suffer.
The Time Warner lady was quite put off on the radio when I got my chance to speak. I reminded her of Time Warner's insistance NOT to carry the Fox news Channel, as TW owns CNN. They were finally strongarmed into doing so a few years ago (by the Feds). I asked her how many people know who really owns the B10 Network (Fox owns half of it; the conference owns the other half). When I asked her if this had any bearing on why nobody is blinking, she hemmed, hawed and changed the subject. I felt really good when, just before my time was up, I sugested she run for office to expel larger amounts of her hot air. I should have asked if I could come down to their brand new office building to watch the channel whenever I liked. But the B10 Network is also ignoring the consumer. So, if on August 31 I don't have it, I'll hope that without the major support of one of the LARGEST Big Ten cities it fails.

Right!
But until then...keep calling the number.
The worst that can happen is the biggies will pick up the hot games...as in years past and we'll only see what they choose to show.
Time Warner is looking to make some $$$. I don't blame them for that...but I've got 50 channels of junk and watch very little tv.
Why not let the consumer choose (a specified number) from a predetermined selection of popular channels ((ie House/Garden Channel)? They might actually have happy customers.
I've replaced tv with the internet...way less boring.

Why not let the consumer choose (a specified number) from a predetermined selection of popular channels ((ie House/Garden Channel)? They might actually have happy customers. . Because many of those are paying for ESPN, which charges $3.00 per household. The many QVC crap channels pay millions to cable companies to offset the price of the other channels. To allow consumers to choose an "ala carte" menu would cost a fortune.
