whats wrong with them? i mean they are all on a crash course with each other, they can't dig a simple ball. thats real frustrating, i don't know can we pull it out in 5?
it looks like dave is running out of ideas or things to say to his girls to really make them play better.
i hope they play better. this is becoming a habit with hawaii.

Question to Hawaii fans: I saw comments that Ferrell got into the game last night but didn't have any opportunities to attack. Were there any comments about that in the newspaper articles about that today? None in respect to Ferrel not attacking, but on the fact that she's not going to redshirt.

I agree, the defense we saw against Michigan, even though they lost, gave me hope, but then everything else collapsed in front of them and now the defense - both blocking and digging - is very suspect for Hawaii. Just the fact that balls that are tipped or soft blocked are just falling. I watch every setter that has come to Hawaii...all are better than Hawaii's setter...except maybe Eastern Washingtons, but the rest simply connect better. Teams come here and they are pumped, Hawaii simply has this fake smile on their face like "its okay, it's okay" but they play like "oh %*$#!"

It makes me wonder if Hawaii will:
1. end up with a sub 0.500 record this season; 2. lose the WAC regular season; 3. lose in the WAC tournament; 4. miss the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1992; 5. have some defections at the end of the season.
I know it's still early, but it just makes me wonder.

WSU won game 2 at: 30-28 to lead the math 2-0. Hawaii's defense is freaken awful. Countless balls dropping in front of Houston in game 1...two players going for the ball, both players not sticking out their hands. Hawaii just doesn't have it in them this year. They are not playing to win, but playing not to lose! Ball handling errors, service errors, and other errors by WSU over the last 10 points allow UH to stay close in game 2 though. I don't know is WSU players were getting tired or if they went into a funk for a while. UH came back in game 2 to tie it at 27s.

I think Hawaii can come back and win the match, but it isn't a good sign that both outsides are hitting pretty well and they are still down 2-0. They have to get the middles involved somehow. Two kills combined in two games is not good. Also, they shouldn't be allowing a team to hit .421 in a game against them.

I'm still going with the preseason t-shirt, "2007 National Champs in the Making", as the big jinx culprit. Honestly, those t-shirts have bothered me the first time I saw them.

He could try putting in Kaufman, Keefe and Mafua. Hittle, Brandt and middles are just not getting anything done.

Yeah, don't you have to be within 5 years or something to avoid the jinx?

On paper, Hawaii is a solid team this year. I guess it just goes to show you how important and amazing a setter like Kanoe Kamana'o is for a team.
I wish that I've seen the team to understand the difficulties they are having.

17-10 UH
UH seems to be digging better this game and WSU digging worse.

I really like to hear that Hawaii is picking it up on the blocking. The end of the long ralley cheer by the fans was encouraging. Keep it going UH... sometimes you just really have to fight to get things on track.
Now that there have been several great plays in a row, the crowd is really getting into it.
