Furman just took game 1 against Clemson 33 - 31 at Clemson. I don't expect it to last, but then again, you never know.
I am trying to figure Furman out. They beat Colorado (not sure what happened there) but since then have been playing weanily, even against very weak competition.
Last night, they had a tough first game against Purdue, leading 24 -22, before Purdue pulled it out 30 - 28. After that, Purdue blew them away (19, 9), so they couldn't sustain anything. The key was Purdue's block coming around, as Furman hit negative for games 2 and 3 (Merlau had 4 solo blocks).
Now, Clemson isn't great or anything, but I am again surprised to see Furman have any success. Maybe its the rivalry thing, who knows. OTOH, Clemson out early in game 2.
Still, they should be dropping a game to Furman, you wouldn't think.

After Clemson comes back and wins game 2 going away (30 - 20), Furman wins game three 30 - 22. They tend to keep things close.
