I honestly believe NU stands a better chance come the Final 4 now that they are playing their best Libero in this match against NMSU. Tara will help them more than either one of their recuited L's this year!

Is Tara not the usual Libero?

Is Tara not the usual Libero? I think Rachel Schwartz was the usual libero.

Tara Mueller still has some work on passing. But over all she did pretty well.
What impressed me about her was actually her serving. Not a difficult ball for the opposing team to return, but it seemed very accurate. If there was a spot to attack to get the opponent out of system, it seemed like it was there every time. She only had the one error that I noticed late in game 3 on serve.
Her passing improves and she'll be nice to have at Libero.

Is Tara not the usual Libero? No she isn't. She's a Freshman, in to start this match. Think they were trying to get her some game time. I thought she handled it well.

So i'm assuming NMSU lost to Nebraska, or this is one helluva long media time out.

Yeah, NU won.

this is actually pretty weird because the two teams NMSU has faced this weekend are also teams that Hawaii has faced (LU)/will face (NU).
The fact that NMSU was actually able to stay close with NU in the second game and at least the first part of the third game (obviously i'm still in the dark as to what happened at the end), is pretty worrisome to me because I honestly didn't think NMSU had that much of a chance of even staying close with NU. Hawaii will be playing in the WAC's probably most hostile crowd (NMSU) in two weeks exactly. Though Hawaii did only need four games to beat LU, so idk...
Anyway until then, even though NMSU lost to NU, I have more respect for them now then before due to the fact that they played pretty close to NU, which is something that most teams can't even do.

Of course I would have loved to have seen us win 1 game. I'm still waiting for the stats to cme up - maybe I'll check the NU site. I'm very proud of this team and how they did this weekend. They played their hearts out.

Don't think she compares to Schwartz yet as Libero. Strange that Schwartz wasn't in there?

Schwartz played horribly last night. I think perhaps Coach is trying to send a message given their depth.

How did NMSU's defensive specialists do? And has Jordan Bostic graduated?

Let me guess...they're playing in Nebraska? Would it matter? The Big 12 has a large travel area without the luxury of easy partners like the other two major conferences. These girls may play in College Station Texas on Wednesday and then in Iowa on Friday night, while attending classes and trying to sleep, rest injuries, etc. on Thursday and Friday. And yet since Cook took over, they've only lost 5 of these conference games.... Does the Big 12 have any larger travel area than the Big 10 or Pac 10? Also, those conferences play back to back nights. Not much time to allow for recuperation - both physically and mentally. Just checking NU's schedule and they only play back to back road matches twice and both of those are a Sat or Sun followed by a Wednesday. Not sure that is tougher than having to play road matches on consecutive nights.
