LM gave the Badgers everything they could handle... UW wins in 5, 15-13... Dolgner w/22 kills, Wack with 18, Dykstra with 13... all hitting over .300.
reineke and jeffers with 7 blocks each, and jo wack with 22 digs

At least the Badgers got the win, but it was pretty stressful, like the football game. Of course, I think LMU in volleyball is a better team than UNLV in football, but that is a different discussion.
It is good that Dolgner had another good match against quality opposition and that Dykstra looks to have played pretty well. Also, if you had told me that AWack would hit .350, I wouldn't have guessed the match would have gone five games. Still, I will take any road win, even one that is shakier than I expected it would be.
I have said before that I am not a big fan of the weekend off coming up, but at least the team isn't coming off a loss going into that. It looks like the lineup still isn't completely down from today's lineups, but it is a good sign that Dykstra had two good matches. It looks like the L2 and DS spots aren't finalized, but at least both DuPont and AWack each had a good match today offensively. As for the middles, they didn't have a lot of kills in this match, but at least they had seven blocks each. I think they will be fine, though, especially as Jeffers gains experience. Now, they just need to make sure they come to play in these road matches, as none of the next four will be easy (Illinois, Michigan, Northwestern, MSU).

I also hope that the Badgers can avoid the double digit service error totals that plagued them this weekend in the future. I know it is good to serve tough, but that seems to be a bit much.

Simpson was the tournament MVP, with Dykstra and AWack joining her on the all-tournament team. Strange that each only played two matches on the weekend. That was the second time that has happened for Jackie this year.

LMU seems to have man-handled all the Big 10 teams thus far. Lucky for the Badgers to come out alive. MSU and NU lost in past two weekends to LMU, courtesy of Hughes, the one-gal -wrecking crew. Hughes has got to be All American material. And, she is left handed. Sweet.
