Anyone know how good Texas A&M is this year. It is hard to tell since they did not play one ranked team or even a team who was receiving votes in the poll during the pre-season. They only lost 1 game during the entire pre-season and statistically are at the top of the Big 12 in many categories. Does this help them or hurt them going into conference play. They've never been pushed. Of course they have tons of confidence but is it false confidence.

Yes. They will be better than last year but not much better. Never seen scheduling this weak by a top conference team. Really pathetic. Doubt if they finish higher than 7th in the Big 12.

Cup cake schedule! Laurie C. and the aggroid team are VERY LUCKY with the Donaldson & Schevikoven transfers. a&m could easily be 5-5 instead of 10-0 without these two transfers. They will probably win at home Wednesday against a young OU but their first "real test" of any kind will be on the road against Iowa State.

They were 4th in last week's Pablo rankings I can tell you that they aren't 4th this week...

A&M is playing with more consistency than last season. last season they played well against ranked teams, and you can see that they are more mature this year.
i agree with Tex_VB_Fan about the transfers but Donaldson has not done much yet because she had to sit out a few matches. Schevikoven is an amazing setter, and really knows how to run her offense.
I think A&M is a top 30 team right now, I would not be surprised to see them go into the top 25.

all my money on OU over A&M this Wed. AM is no top 25 team. You can't see anything, let alone maturity, playing the teams they've played.

This is only a guess, but the Corbellis might be feeling the pressure (their own or the school's) to make the Dance. 10 wins going into the conference (a la Michigan 2006) will help with the overall win total AND give a boost to a young team with a new starting setter & MB.
At least Michigan had wins over #20 San Diego & tourney bound Iowa State last year.
As was previously mentioned, A&M's record after 9/15 will tell me more.

Today's CSTV/AVCA Division I Coaches Poll lists the Aggies at No. 25. Seems about right to me.
I look for Phillips to start ahead of Donaldson next Wednesday, though Donaldson has played good ball so far. Schevikoven will start. The team looks more composed this year, compared to last. Fewer distractions.
