What is really sad about this is that it took a troll to start a thread about a Hawaii game and it didn't come until well into the match. In the past there would have been pages of pre-match comments and pages of play-by-play by many fans during the match. Where did everybody go?

Without a shadow of a doubt, I must concur with the other posters here that Hawaii played ugly. I think in some points of the match they disgraced themselves and its team. I'm not sure what else to add. This wasn't supposed to happen and shouldn't have happened even if BSU played the match of their lives. Too many self-inflicted errors on the part of the Wahine. Having said that, I don't think there ever was a doubt of them winning, but as others have said, they should be playing with more motivation and focus.
Unlike that retarded poster who continuously dissed Brandt, I don't think it was entirely her fault... there were some bad sets on her part, but more often than not it was due to the lack of good passes. What's your problem anyway, did Brandt beat you up back in High School or something?--- yup I bet that's why.
The only positives that came out of this match for the Wahine was that they were able to pull away when they needed to, they didn't fold up when they were down by a lot in some of the latter games- as they did against OSU. Overall they didn't play great but they did what they needed to when they needed to do so.
In regards to the poster who said something about McLaughlin's comment to this match being good for the Wahine.... You're right about that it's one thing if they were getting pushed by NMSU, or Wichita State or a team like that, but it's another thing (when) getting pushed by a rather weak team like BSU. I think maybe CM should have re-worded this into that: it's good for them to be pushed by BSU like this so it'll give them a wake-up call for the WAC.
The truth is that this is a good wake up call for the team to have, especially with a tough road trip vs. NMSU and SJSU, they need to take their WAC opponents a little more seriously.
Another thing: Kaaihue.... what the hell was going on with her. Was she sick or something? She wasn't playing her usual "game."
All in all, this was a bad match for the Wahine but I don't think we should be too worried because every team has matches like this, and next week they should know what they're getting into playing against a surprisingly tough NMSU team in LC.

It is really sad that we have to deal with trolls and these kinds of posts. Gee, what are you insinuating? Hawaii has thousands and thousands of loyal fans who were either at the match or watching it on TV -- the vast great majority of whom don't care about VT. The few that do post here may not be especially revved up about a game against Boise.

They already got their wake-up call against Wichita State. You're not allowed to have more than one wake-up call. Either wake up or miss the meeting.

In answer to where all the fans were. I am not in charge of roll call this week. I only know why I didn't want to post during the game...I was watching it and it was making me a little nervous. When I get nervous I don't type too well. So instead of hitting the 'delete' button like 100 times, I just drink more. ;D
And as a matter of fact and NOT AS AN EXCUSE---several of the Wahine WERE/ARE a bit under the weather and I think they did fairly well considering this. I would imagine Shoji wanted to play the starters to keep them familiar with each other. Don't worry. The road trip will be fine. These girls can play and so can the bench.

I would've been here but I was watching "48 Hour Mystery" on CBS, followed by the local news.

You're right about the whole "wake up call for the WAC" for Hawaii. AT least Jim Leahy is a little honest. At the beginning of the season when HIttle kept hitting out or into the net or serving out, Leahy went on to say "and Hittle hits out....yet again" with a tone of irritation. Under the weather, too much sun, some of Hawaii's errors last night was just inexcusable. I agee that kaaihue let alot of balls drop and shanked a lot...hmmm not good for a liebero I think! Hawaii's two outside hitters aren't hitting for good percentages...in WAC matches against WAC teams with LOSING records....that just isn't good!
