www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2007/09/17/SPLPS7EQB.DTL From the above article.. The action took place in a nifty little instant stadium on Pier 30-32, between the foot of the Bay Bridge and the Giants' ballpark. They trucked in the sand, and the sunshine. Sunday's championship matches attracted the first AVP sellout crowd of the season, about 4,000. (Memo to John York: The people who built this set-up could build you a football stadium in about a week, and save you about $1 billion.) Read the outstanding full article from the above link by one of the super fine local sport's writers. For those who don't follow football, John York is the owner of the 49ers who is dithering about where and what to build for the football team.....been fiddling around for years... I predict the AVP will return to SF next year...

So after several months the AVP finally got a crowd that's almost the size of Nebraska v. New Mexico State U.
Awesome.

You mean the Hermosa and Manhattan Beach events do not sell OUT? Aren't those events affected by a California state agency decree that people can watch a tournament on the beach without having to pay? The San Francisco venue had no beach to sit on.
