No. 4 USC Stays On A Roll With 3-0 Pac-10 Sweep Over ASU
Freshman Kimmee Roleder records season-highs with 18 kills and 21.0 points.

LOS ANGELES - Freshman Kimmee Roleder (Pasadena/Pasadena HS) registered a season-high 18 kills and 21.0 points Thursday as the No. 4 USC Women of Troy opened Pac-10 Conference play with a 3-0 sweep (30-14, 30-21, 30-25) over the Arizona State Sun Devils at the Galen Center. Roleder hit a team-high .469 (18-3-32) while adding eight digs and three blocks.
USC improved to 11-0 overall and 1-0 in conference while Arizona State fell to 8-6 on the season, 0-1 in Pac-10 play. It was USC's 23rd straight win in the series against ASU, dating back to the 1995 season.
Senior outside hitter Diane Copenhagen (Saratoga/St. Francis HS) chipped in 14 kills while senior All-American Asia Kaczor had 10 kills and tied a personal best with four service aces while freshman Zoe Garrett had six kills and five blocks.
ASU libero Sydney Donahue became the Pac-10 Conference's career leader in digs after recording 17 digs on the evening, eclipsing the record held by USC's Debora Seilhamer (2,071 digs from 2003-06). Donahue now has 2,084 digs in her career.
Sarah Reaves led the Sun Devils with 10 kills on the evening.
Kaczor recorded all of her service aces during a stretch of 11 straight points to push USC out to a 14-2 lead in the first game. The Trojans hit .394 in the game and held the Sun Devils to a .062 hitting clip as Roleder and Copenhagen finished the game with six and five kills, respectively.
Marina Mercer's win on the joust gave ASU the 8-6 lead, but the Trojans responded with 10-1 run to take game two. Game three was closer for Arizona State, but USC pulled away at 25-23 thanks to kills from Garrett, Roleder and Kaczor.
