This one's not in the papers and a little more happy than another recent volleyball player birth story.
Angela Eckmier Ule (UCLA 1998-2002) and Melody Eckmier Studer (Hawaii 2000-2004) both gave birth yesterda (9/20/2007) to their first children and their parent's first grandchildren.
Melody led off with a 19-3/4" 7 pound-2 oz girl and Angela had a 9 pound-1oz, 21-3/4" boy.
Both births took place within three hours of each other.
Congratulations to both girls and a special well-wishing to the new grandparents!

Amazing - Please tell me they both delivered at the same hospital so first-time Grandma and Grandpa didn't have to choose which birth to attend.
Here's hoping both Moms are doing well - That bright light shining in the far north must be IB's smile - huge congrats.

Wow. I'm assuming the coincidental date of birth was all part of a master plan.

Where have they committed to playing? You're joking right? In the headline and in the first post it answers your question.
