Why isn't there a requirement for minimum scoreboard stats at all SEC volleyball games. I just got back from the LSU vs UF match and was appalled at the lack of any kind volleyball stats presented to the fans. How many times do I have to interpert volleyball stats from a basketball scoreboard. Why not get rid of all of the graphics in the middle of the video board and put in the game stats. I guess I'm just spoiled by Florida's spectacular video boards. Are there any facilities in the SEC that provide volleyball stats to the fans besides Florida?

You want regulations for what is to be shown on a scoreboard?

You mean...like total kills...hitting percentage, total digs? Things like that? I've never been to a game that presented that. And I've seen games at Harvard, Northeastern, BC, USC and Long Beach. Is this common?

I want a minimum standard set that requires the hosting facility to use something other than a basketball scoreboard that has nothing on it besides the score. A scoreboard should list the player's numbers that are on the court, total kills, blocks, digs and assists for those players. If you can show video on the scoreboard, you can show these stats. Maybe I'm spoiled because Florida has this in every corner of the court.

Perhaps a bit spoiled. I've seen scoreboards with some of those stats, but not all. Sounds like Florida has it's act together.

Well how about forking over some of that money so some of the other programs can have them. LOL. I firmly believe most of the schools in the SEC operate within the funding they have available to provide what the fans demand of the program.
Heck, the people who manufacture actual scoreboards (not videoboards that have schools create graphics for them like UF) for volleyball don't even include all those stats. They tend to have a column for digs and kills and that's about it.

Ole Miss does. South Carolina does. Alabama does. Arkansas does. Kentucky does. Georgia does. Those are the ones I am certain of off the top of my head from recent trips to watch teams compete there. So that's at least 7-of-11 teams.

I know this might be unexpected bad news, but Stokley Athletic Center does not feature any giant video boards with player stats...

The only two places i have seen scoreboards that show who is on the court and some other volleyball related stats are Louisville and Purdue.

Sounds like those schools want to host a regional.

Purdue has a volleyball specific scoreboard that lists kills and digs. Admittedly, I rarely look at it myself, although I will glance at it later in matches. One big drawback on it is that it only lists 6 players, and usually does not include the Libero. Dig stats just aren't as meaningful in that regard.

The bigger issue is people not doing video and / or ripping visiting team fans the hell off for it.
Tennessee is back to doing their video again (which is free), so i can go back to having righteous indignation.
