OK, I know we're in the middle of the NCAA season, but the European Championships are going on right now and for those of you interested, you can watch live streaming of the Bronze match between Russia - Poland currently playing as well the Championship match between Serbia and Italy following after. The PbP is in German, but this is high quality VB with all the big names. www.laola1.tv/live/index.html

I completely forgot about Aguero's situation. This will be the first time I've seen her play for Italy.

Serbia up 13-9. So far Serbia is winning the serve/pass game. They've aced Italy two or three times already, and their digs to transition are much better.

I haven't seen Aguero do anything but deep angle, but the Serb middles keep floating outside. That's coaching.

Wow, the quality of the broadcast is amazing! Wish US internet broadcasts were that good. This is a pet peeve for sure. I've watched my fair share of streaming matches from Europe and North American broadcasts don't even come close. Heck, Winnipeg hosted the Norcecas and we barely got any TV of the matches, let alone live scoring. It is just sad. VB in Europe rules especially in this arena!

Aww crap. I missed these matches. I wonder if they'll replay. I'm kinda pulling for Italy to do something big in 2008. They have such a talented team and such a strong volleyball following. I don't see why they cannot be as successful as Brazil. I wonder what's the deal with Russia. I'm not too big on Safronova. Is Plotnikova still w/ the National Team?

I missed all but the finals. Looking at the stats from the Ita-Rus semi final it looks like Italy's hitters were just more effective than Russia's. I guess you would have to attribute that to the difference between LoBianco and Akulova. I was pretty surprised by the result, and by the decisiveness.
I never heard why Djersilio was out for Serbia. Does anyone know?
