As much as I would love to think that UT will be a top 3 team next year, I'm still worried about Sat in Mizzou. This is THE pivotal game for the Longhorns. If they win they will face the best team in the country On Wed. with something on the line, lose and it's just another curious, weird loss that will launch several "What's wrong with Texas" emails.

yeah, if i were Texas I wouldn't start think about NU coming to town before sunday, if memory serves me correctly, Texas hasn't won in Columbia in 5 or 6 years i think

While I agree with both of you, it's interesting to note that this is the very reason many of us complain about the punitive nature of the AVCA poll. If Texas loses to unranked Missouri, Texas may very well fall out of the top 10. If they followed that by beating Nebraska, they wouldn't suddenly move all the way to the top 3.
In fact, let's say Texas takes Missouri in 3 (which, though tough to do in Columbia, has already been done by Nebraska, and Texas already swept Missouri in Austin without Engle), and then defeats the Huskers in 5 games at the Colisseum. Does anyone really think Texas would jump to the #1 spot? I don't. In fact, I'm not even sure they would move above their current 5th place spot unless the other three teams ahead of them also drop a match next week.
A close 5-set loss to Missouri will hurt their poll ranking far more than a dominating sweep by Nebraska, especially at the halfway point with no remaining good opponents to give them a boost going into the postseason even if they sweep all of them.

Well, let's just say that if the 'Horns can pull off the upset of the 'Huskers then the AVCA polls the week after are going to be interesting to say the least.
Question: Let's say the 'Horns win out and the 'Huskers win out (with the exception of the game in Austin). Who receives the auto-bid to the Tourney? Granted, it doesn't matter because both will go and they will share the Big XII Championship, but I'm just curious. How many conferences actually have conference tournaments?

Impressive win for Texas. Faucette is neck and neck W/Klineman for national freshman of the year in my book.
The upcoming Texas vs Nebraska match is shaping up to be epic. Could be one of the top 1-3 matches of the season.
From you Texas fans, how many tickets have been sold so far?

This match usually has the largest crowd of the season in the 3,500 to 4,000 range. Last year's box score has attendance as 3,882 but I suspect we'll have a sell out next week, 4,000. This could potentially be a Big 12 conference championship match should Texas win at Missouri this Saturday. All reserved seating is sold out according to online ticket sales so general admission are remaining available.

My focus today seems to be pointing me towards a better understanding of the Pablo system. I'm not sure if that should be classified as good, bad, or indifferent. This week the Pablo rankings have Nebraska at 10,000 points and Texas (with the HCA of 210 included) at 9,435. If I have analyzed the data correctly, this means that Nebraska would be favored to win roughly 80% of the time. It will be interesting to see if the Pablo points and the resulting probability change significantly this week.

I would take Faucette as the FOY at this point as well. One, her stats are better. Two, her role and her impact on her team is much greater. Doesn't mean Faucette is better, just a better candidate.
