Perusing scores on Kern and saw this one:
Wyoming over New Mexico, 3-0 (28, 23, 19)
That conference race is interesting. Colo St at 8-1 hasn't played at second place UNLV (6-2), and TCU, BYU and New Mexico are all tied for 3rd (5-4), followed by SDSU, then Wyoming, the Air Force.
With lots of matches of left to play, will be interesting to see how it wraps up, and I'd bet on upsets in the tournament.

this is quite possibly the most competitive year in the MWC. It's unfortuante for SDSU to be losing on the road so far. And that their kills leader broke her leg at TCU and is out for the season though. BYU has not been as dominant as expected and CSU has been pretty surprising. Everyone knew UNM was going to be much better this season but losing to Wyoming is a shock. However, Wyoming beat SDSU at home and they usually tend to pick it up midway through the season, especially when they play at home. SDSU is playing at UNLV tonight, whom they beat when they went to SD. And BYU is playing at CSU this weekend as well. Now I think the conference will shape up like this: 1. CSU 2. UNLV 3. BYU 4. UNM 5. Utah 6. SDSU (if they can manage without Darnall) 7. TCU- might take 6th, but we'll see 8. WYO 9. AF, will go winless in conference again

deadpan- BYU lost to CSU last night in three. Utah plays at CSU tonight.
Underachieving: BYU Overachieving: UNM, UNLV, Utah, and now, Wyoming

BYU is way underachieving, which is pretty sad because BYU is packed with good players. What exactly is going on over there?

They lose Erica and Chelsea with no one in the wings. This should have been their year, especially with the defections from Utah, but I think they now must win the conference tourney to go the the NCAA's. There will lots of desperate teams at the MWC tournament. Do we still blame Karen Lamb, or can we start bagging on Jason?

Oh no, Karen Lamb is long gone. Commence bagging on the current coach..hahaha......I know people had issues with his personality and I don't know him so I won't go there, but as a coach, I'm not impressed. He has yet to take BYU to the next level and like you said, next year doesn't seem too good.

I don't know-maybe there aren't enough LDS kids out there to field a top ten team. Oh wait-Utah was full of LDS kids last year-Hmmmmm-must be the coaching. And Beth has done it with a variety of asst coaches-I'm a fan of hers.

Jason did bring BYU back to the top 25, and has stayed they for most of his coaching career so far, with the exception of their recent fall.

Phew, Hopefully New Mexico righted the ship against Air Force.
