Major Congratulations for Sarah Pavan, the all-time kills leader at Nebraska! That is phenomenal considering the other big time hitters they've had on that team the entire time that she's been there. Including CHotel who beat out her and some gal from UW for POY in 2005. Not to mention Jordan Larson who on any other team would at least be that team's MVP. Obviously, both CHotel and Larson "take away" from many potential kills total by SP. Pavan was on fire in game 1. From the video feed, it looked like KU had no idea where SP would be hitting the ball to (7 kills @ 1.000). KU obviously adjusted in games 2 and 3 since SP only got 10 more kills in those 2 games, missed a few and made a couple of errors. This only proves that she's human despite being a world-class athlete and a perfectionist -- both of which can be a problem to live up to.

I'm sure Larson is a great player...but MVP on any other team? I think not. Barboza, Klineman, Akinradewo, Morrison, Mussie, Spicer, Pressy, Kazcor, Hodge, Fawcette, Hooker, and Engle would have something to say about that....Larson is great, no doubt, but she would not be the superstar at Stanford, Washington, USC, UCLA (although they need a terminator), Cal, Texas, or Penn State and Houghtelling did not deserve POY for 2005.... I'm sorry but no. A husky dserved it...Tomasevic.

Tomasevic, like Houghtelling, put up great numbers, but unlike Houghtelling, Tomasevic played in a tougher conference, and her team won the national championship

But the vote for POY was before that! Did you forget that little detail? So whoever wins the NC and how they performed in that is irrelevant. That's the way it works.

No I didn't, but Tomasevic didn't need to have impressive play in the final to back up her overall season performance. In fact Morrison outplayed Houghtelling, Pavan, and Tomasevic in the Final 4. But like I said, Tomasevic had impressive numbers in a much tougher Pac-10 that featured 1/3 of the All Americans that year

But, she's the one with the trophy. Personally, I think that Pavan and Tomasevic negated each other in voting, letting Houghtelling win it. Chris was obviously surprised, overwhelmed and did not expect to win POY. Stanger things have happened in voting (Remember Truman and Dewey in the 1948 presidential election?).

She would not be a superstar on Stanford, Washington etc. We have our share of superstars also.... 5 All americans and 2 NPOY's. I don't think the last time I checked that any other team quite had that firepower. I think Larson could hold her own on any team. Houghtelling..... Didn't you whine about this 2 years ago??

You're right, Larson would hold her own on any team...but I was refering to a Nebraska fan saying that she would be MVP on any other team, and that, I think, is very premature. Larson would still be an All American, but I think Stanford, Washington, Penn State, Texas, etc. would/are fine without her

When Sarah Pavan and Jordan Larson went heads up in the CSTV Beach Tourney against Cynthia Barboza and Bryne Keyhoe, who won? Oh, that doesn't count because that was "beach"? Jordan Larson has come out on top of EVERY head to head match up between Barboza and Larson. This is just another alternate reality you are living in.
