It's really the Aladdin Hotel management, not all Vegas casinos. Also, most casino-goers (esp. the shows) are from out-of-town, like you and me, not Vegas residents.
Anyway, I don't know what the big fuss is. The Moore documentary was not even that good. Talk about much brouhaha over nuthin.

I applaud Aladdin President Bill Timmins and those that walked out on that idiot. If I was there I would have thrown more than the my wine glass at Ronstadt, I would have thrown the Wine bottle, and I wouldn't have missed. That dumbass got what she deserved. People went to here her sing not to witness her BS political grandstanding. We live in America, not France!! Here's the truth about Ronstadt's hero and Fahrenheit 9/11 www.bowlingfortruth.com/

Ronstadt is a wonderfully talented singer, one of the truly great ones, not like today's trash. She's now in the Bay Area, preparing for concerts at San Rafael and Saratoga (my hometown!). There has been an increase in ticket demand as a result of her comments. Some burned their tickets in protest -- they're idiots. They should've at least tried selling them for a profit and either pocketed the money (the true Republican spirit) or donated the money to the Republican Party. No one really cares anymore about burning anything for protest. Stupid stupid stupid.

Not hardly. There are just as many partial truths, misleading comments, and the like in the comments trying to refute the movie that there were in the movie. The difference (to me) being that Moore never tried to claim he was presenting an unbiased view with his movie.

The merits of Fahrenheit 911 have NOTHING to do with what happened. I will even agree that Ronstadt should have kept her opinion to herself. But there is NO excuse for the specific reactions of the crowd or the casino.
But as long as the movie has been brought up here, I think Moore's most salient point was his last: it is the DUTY of the President of the U.S. not to put our country's soldiers in harm's way unless absolutely necessary. GW's actions re Iraq showed blatant disregard for this duty. And for that reason alone (although there are 1000s more), he needs to be voted out of office.
If there were any justice, he would also have to serve in Baghdad for a couple of years--finally fulfilling his military obligations. BunkerBoy can join him.

What has always amazed me about celebrities is that :
1. They think their political views carry more clout than the average American that goes to work everyday, raises his/her family, pays taxes, and tries to do right.
2. They find the need to express said views to anyone that will listen.
Moore is no patriot, he's a fat pig. When he lifts a hand or put himself in harm's way to defend the freedoms he continues to enjoy, maybe then I'll take him somewhat seriously.
Ronstandt is a fat cow. People pay money to go to a Las Vegas show to be entertained, not have someone use that opportunity as a political forum.

Do you even know anyone in the military currently serving overseas? I know many. To a person, they all believe what we are doing is right and support the decision to use military action in Iraq and Afganistan. And...lest you forget...it takes an act of Congress to deploy US troops overseas for periods more than 120 days when there is no declaration of war. So, if you're gonna blame Bush, then you should start finding and naming every member of Congress that voted in support of sending troops into Iraq last year.

Moore is no patriot, he's a fat pig. Ronstandt is a fat cow. I take it that those are examples of how you're showing that your opinion(s) carry significant merit? What were Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz doing during the Vietnam war other than avoiding it? That makes them experts on war now and trustworthy in pushing for war as they had been for a number of years before the US invasion of Iraq?

This is an internet message board, not a showroom at a Vegas Casino where people pay in excess of $150 to watch a fat cow past her prime sing her songs. You didn't pay anything to read my post.

In Gulf War I I was in Italy. During the end of the Cold War I was in North Dakota. In both instances, serving my country. Where were you?

BTW, still waiting on that list of Senators and Congressmen who voted in favor of sending troops to Iraq in 2003. Republican AND Democrat.
