I'm going to watch the "one side of the story" documentary tomorrow at Ward theatres (I can't bash it without seeing it first.) The particular showing I am going to is hosted by the Hawaii democratic party ;D. I'll be sure to wear my George W Bush T shirt to the showing. I'll let you guys know how it went.

I already saw it.
It's an op/ed piece, BiK. He's entitled to his opinion.
I had some problems with it. I wish it had followed up on the issues it raises. As is, it seems a little scattershot. However, there were some highlights:
1) Criticism of W's first 9 months in office and his casual approach to the position is justified. For obvious reasons.
2) What happened in that Florida classroom is also pretty amazing if for no other reason than I would have though the SS would have swooped him away. As it is, he looks like a man in over his head. Which, of course, he is.
3) The segment with the recruiters in Flint is great filmmaking. And borders on the obscene.
I was expecting a more tightly edited piece and something much more coherent.
But there is no mistaking its central permise (nor, for me, any arguing with it): W is totally unqualified for the job.
And he's slimey to boot.
Enjoy, BiK. Try not to start a riot...

I didn't dislikie the documentary as much as I thought I would (At least I didn't walk out). The begining was rather interesting and funny to boot (They show a part where Al Gore is celebrating his Presidential Victory ;D).
The documentary was rather "Cut and Paste". It is a Michael Moore film so his bias is evident. I thought the Saudi ties to the Bush family and associates were pretty interesting.
There are some funny parts of the film. The piece at the end where Bush tries to recite the "Fool me once" saying was incredibly hilarious. Definitely the best part of the documentary.
I won't give too much away because many people have yet to watch it but I actually enjoyed parts of it.
The worse part was hearing people clap throughout various parts of the Movie, and sitting through Ann Wright groveling for democratic support. These democrats- they are kind of looney.
I'm still voting for Bush.

So the liberal amounts of free Democratic popcorn you consumed hasn't impacted your voting preference?

Twas not free. I had to pay for my own popcorn. The democrats are cheap, unless they are spending someone else's money.

I had a large dept once. But it was downsized. Now it's just me. I.

I heard Ray Bradbury, the author of the classic "Fahrenheit 451," didn't care to have his book title "misappropriated" by Moore for the title of his documentary.

I never saw the documentary yet. I'll wait for the DVD release. But aside from a few good segments, I heard it was not a good documentary overall.
Ya know folks, if you want a really good documentary, go watch "Capturing the Friedmans" -- entertaining, poignant, and with a twist in the last third of the feature!
"Honestly, I'm not guilty of THOSE felonies..." Gosh, a quote that says so much.

I'm not sure F9/11 can actually be considered a documentary since documentaries are theoretically supposed to be mostly unbiased.

Absolutely untrue. They should be factual, but unbiased? No way. As a matter of fact, generally, you want a documentary to have a point of view. Besides, why make one if you don't have a point?
