Most geologists predict Seattle will be annhilated by either a major earthquake or a pyroclastic flow from Mt. Raineer during an oncoming eruption.

Bainbridge Island is a very small part of the Seattle area.
It sounds like the problem was more in their Chamber of Commerce didn't give much (if any) forethought to the consequences of allowing politcal activists and election related issues to be allowed as not only part of the parade as well as part of people bringing their signs out along the parade route.
If the announcer truly did make a sarcastic remark to the Iraq War soldier / veteran she ought to be ashamed indeed.
Perhaps the conflict could have been avoided though the pro-Bush followers hadn't been able to have their signs in the parade (especially know that the island's population is largely anti-Bush) and the anti-Bush folks handn't been allowed to be brandishing their signs along the parade route.
Seatlle itself though, had little is anything to do with the issue.

I stay away from rallies, demonstrations, parades and any event which attracts large crowds. It's a mob scene waiting to happen and I just know some bloody redneck hillbilly is going to throw rocks at the riot police, miss them, and hit me instead. Or I'll get trampled to death.
I guess that's why I love volleyball; sparse crowds.

I guess you won't be wandering around the Minnesota State fair toward the end of Auguest in search of the worlds best mini-donuts, cheese curds, corn dogs, and various things on a stick?

Cheese curds are the best!!! I'd go to a cheese curd rally.

ROFL.
What could get better than chunk of fat, dipped and layered in a tub of thick doughy fat batter, then deep fried in boiling fat?
I'm trying to imagine what a cheese curd rally would consist of other than a large gather of people chowing down on massive quantities of cheese curds.

I prefer just the regular cheese curd. Though a breaded & fried cheese curds are good & they are a gut bomb.
I only get cheese curds when I'm in Wisconsin attendin the farmers Market that surrounds the State capital on Sat. mornings. It's fantastic, I don't know if Wisconsin cheese curds are better then Minn cheese curds but I can't eat enough of them when I'm up north.

If Maui hosts some sort of parade that turns into a similar politcal fiasco then all of Hawaii (including yourself) is to be considered shameful?

>-(Gorf)-<[} link=board=news&thread=1089678515&start=12#0 date=1089938222] If Kaneohe hosts some sort of parade that turns into a similar politcal fiasco then all of Oahu (including yourself) is to be considered shameful? Hawaii people have more class than to mock a young man that puts his life on the line to protect their freedom. I may be shameful but for other reasons, of course. ;D

Now you're making your statement even further off base.
Calling all of Seattle shameful because a small group of people behaved ridiculously rudely toward a veteran of the Iraq war.
