Hawaii wins in 4.
23-30, 30-25, 30-25, 30-26
They played in the Bren Center tonight. It holds around 5,000 people. Similar to the Center Hawaii plays in at home.
Tomorrow night they will play in Crawford Court. Much smaller. We will see if that makes a difference tomorrow.

It looks like the Warriors had a slow start but came on after the first set.

From Irvine's website:
IRVINE, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i defeated UC Irvine 23-30, 30-25, 30-25, 30-26 at the Bren Center in front of 928 fans.
The Warriors improved to 5-1 overall and perfect in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action at 3-0. The Anteaters dropped to 3-6 and 1-3 in the MPSF. "We weren't particuliarly sharp early, but we battled," head coach Mike Wilton said. UH was without Dio Dante tonight who was ailing with a sore back. He was replaced in the starting lineup with Kyle Klinger. Dante is expected to return to action in the series finale tomorrow night.
"Klinger hit .500 in his first ever start, so our middles are getting it done up front no matter who we insert," Wilton said.
"UH came out sluggish, struggling in Game One especially their passing attack," Wilton added.
"Hakala was a solid presence on the floor with the passing game, and he also gave us some offense."
Jose struggled out of the gates with his passing and hitting at the net. The two teams complete the two-match series Saturday night at Crawford Court with a 7 p.m. PT first serve (5 p.m. HT).

LOL.
Barefoot Dork in Kahoolawe, good to see you on the men's board! ;D
Now you don't need to feel embarassed that you have an Eyal Zimet autographed poster hanging above your bed. Or that you and Idadork get together once a week to work on your UH Men's volleyball scrapbooking. LOL.

Will someone PLEASE tell Thomas to do his damn homework and study for his test? Thanks.

Anyone know why santa barbara transfer Jake Schud isn't playing? Didn't he start on the Junior National Team?

In fact, he's been coached by John Speraw for a couple of years now on the Jr. National Team. Too bad he didn't get to play against his other Jr. National team mates. According to the local paper, Jake didn't fly in with the rest of the UH team. He had a stomach ailment and flew in a day or so later. Maybe that's why he's not playing.
