NBC claims many hours of live Internet streaming for volleyball in the advertisement provided by Odin yet so far I cannot find one volleyball event on their "Online" schedule. While many other sports are represented volleyball isn't even listed.

This is ridiculous. How much easier could it be to have a setup to livestream all volleyball matches at a single indoor facility. It's great that the USA matches will be aired on various TV channels but considering how popular volleyball and beach volleyball are worldwide and specifically in the USA during the Olympics this is extremely disappointing. Can't wait to see how the chop up the TV airing to show about 20% of the matches and add dorky fluff pieces for their 'volleyball' coverage.

This is my biggest complaint about USAV. They need to make there presence more on the forefront of Olympic sports and wine and dine whoever it takes if they are the Ambassadors of our sport. I'm happy to see them at the Nationals, JO's etc. but they really need to market and sell this sport otherwise nobody at NBC or otherwise will know that volleyball even exists.
This is a trickle down effect, same stuff happens at the NCAA volleyball level etc. USAV needs energized, market savy and diplomatic people to push this sport, otherwise, volleyball will be stuck in this socialistic type format that says, don't rock my boat because it's fine the way it is and keep it under the radar for my well being. I say NOT!!!

Hear, hear!! Can USAV capitalize on a gold medal into much needed publicity and funding to transform volleyball into a top level sport like baseball, football, etc. in the USA? Having a stable pro league (that is around for more than a few yrs) would help. Women's soccer has also regressed after their pro league folded. A friend of mine told me that volleyball will only get big when Vegas can start putting betting lines on matches like over/under on total points scored or scoring margins for each game...err...set.

Women's pro sports leagues will not succeed in the present social climate of the USA. Period.
