I hate that I have to leave for work in the middle of the opening ceremony, which so far to this point has just been awesome.
China is definitely pulling all the stops!
Thank goodness for videotaping (sorry, still old school --- I don't have a PVR).
Don't miss this one!

Thankfully, I'm on the same side of the world as China and there's no time difference. Watching it now at the comfort of my home.

The ceremony was great. CCTV's coverage was about a 6 out of 10 in my opinion. The lighting of the torch was a big let down, but at least now the Games can FINALLY begin! USA vs. Japan tomorrow night. One of the BEST things about being in China for the Games is their love for pai qiu (volleyball)...all the matches will be on TV...Let's go USA!
