An interesting sport to watch to tell you the truth. Currently Canada is being pounded by Australia, and New Zealand is beating up on South Korea.
There is a shot equivalent to the soccer's corner kick and in the AUS/CAN match all the defenders start off in the net and they wore a face mask. After the miss hit, the defenders removed their mask and continued play from the sideline. In the NZL/SKR match, only 2 wore the face mask while the remaining players charged the team taking the shot. SKR failed to score, but NZL scored easily. Do the women do the same, with the face mask I mean?
And its amazing how little protection both men and women wear in this game. I've seen this ball upclose and its heavy....definitely hurts if you get hit by it without protection.

Brother,
You have to watch team Handball. I was watching South Korea Vs. Germany. They gave the South Koreans a penalty shot from 7m. After seeing this, I think soccer players are whimp. The player lines up 7 m from the goal mouth and takes a direct shot on goal. The German goalie stopped the shot, with her face. There was no time to react. There was no wall, no one in between, at point blank range.

Yeah, team handball can be quite brutal. Played a tamed version of it in hs and practiced briefly on a club team at my UG. Wish the club would have taken off because we only had 3 practices before the advisor cancelled it. Fun sport!
