Poland won the first set 25-23, and is losing big the second set (11-20). Not sure what to make of it. In the first set it looks like Poland would win this match handily. Now they can't put the ball away.

Poland loses the second set 15-25.
China tipped a lot in the second set and got a bunch of points. We'll see if Poland adjusts to this.

Poland loses 3rd set 20-25.
Poland definitely cannot stop China's two middles!

China wins set 4 25-22, and subsequently the match.
First time I actually heard the Chinese crowd get into it for real.

China does not look like the same team from Athens. I'm hoping they improve as the tournament goes on, but they do not look as strong defensively. All their returning players look a step slower. How is China's OH2 (not Wang Yimei, not Hao Yang)? I'm not familiar w/ her.

China's O2 is usually Yang, the O1 is Wang. The only other outside hitter on the roster is Li Juan who less error prone than Wang, but is really more suited to Yang's position. She's not as good as Yang.

If China establishes their middle attack, that should take some pressure off the OH...specially Wang. In the few matches I have seen her play, not too impressed with her. Truth of the matter is if their OHs don't pick up some slack, China will have a tough time against Brazil and possibly Cuba. The Cuban team I saw against the US was not the same one I saw a couple of months ago. Sheesh!
At times, I thought Poland looked disorganized in this match up...like they didn't know what to do. Still recall a play where a defender dug the ball towards the right side, and neither the setter nor the OPP played the ball....and dropped in front of the OPP. But Poland does have this one attacker...maybe the MH...that completed 3 kills in a row from the backrow. The ball touched the floor around 15-20ft from the net. If they can fine tune their goofy footed OH and utilize their 2 MHs, Poland will be tough to beat.
