That PST or EST? I REALLY hope they show this whole match. Bulgaria can be lights out, as can the US. I'd like to see this one in its entirety.

Obviously not LIVE but Prime Time (CT). Of course, the Prime Time slot shows as only one hour long so that means it will be an edited version of the match... From NBC Olympic TV Listings Schedule7:00p - 8:00p Primetime The U.S. men's volleyball team plays undefeated Bulgaria. The Americans, also undefeated, can secure a quarterfinal berth with a win, and they may have back their coach, Hugh McCutcheon, just days following the murder of his father-in-law in Beijing. www.nbcolympics.com/tv_and_online_listings/zone=CT/day=6/sport=VO/tv.html

Can I comment on this match? Probably not. I'll open a thread with a spoiler warning.

I hate that I cannot comment on the result due to the delayed showing tonight...but I understand why.

Of course, the only true non-spoiler is simply to say nothing at all. Even a thread titled with a spoiler warning in the title gives away some information by its length.
For example, in the women's board, for Hawai'i and Nebraska threads within a few hours of the match time, less than 4 pages always indicate a sweep. Threads 5-8 pages usually indicate a 4 set victory by either team. Threads 9-12 pages indicate a 5 set match. Threads longer than 13 pages nearly always indicate a 5-set loss.
So the fact that the USA/Bulgaria thread has only 13 comments probably indicates a 3 or 4 set victory.
Or it could also mean that everyone's at work and/or doesn't really care enough to comment on the men's team.

man you just ruined the little excited rush i get from not knowing anything about a match before reading the thread... Since you're new to the board I'll let you in on the best-kept secret in all VTlandia -- I pretty much talk out of my ass most of the time (which no doubt helps keep GSOBB around, since he's so obsessed with rear ends), so take anything I say with a grain of salt and a dash of paprika. Unless you have high blood pressure, in which case eliminate the salt and use a double-dog-dash of paprika.

I will, make sure you say lots of things, though I'm a big fan of paprika.

So... is this match worth watching on broadcast tonight, or should we just wait for the video to be posted online?

For those interested in watching this, NBC is showing it now, but they started the match in the 4th set.

Well, at least they showed it in primetime. Even if it was just the friggin 4th set. After watching the USA play, they kind of remind of the way Brazil has been beating teams all these years. Great defense, great ball control, good serving, good all around game. Its nice to see. GO USA!!!

I was just gonna bypass the whole salt and paprika thing and straight up marinade your rear end in some teriyaki sauce.
