How 'bout we convert Foluke into a setter for 2012? Then baldyballer and tenniscraze will both be happy.

As stated elsewhere, the Italy USA match will be 10 PM Beijing, or 7AM here, Pacific time, on Tuesday. Men finish at 7 AM Monday morning PT v. Japan: I think they have secured first place, and will play quarters on Wednesday. Don't think the opponent is decided, but no draw; 1 v. 4. Probably Serbia (shades of World League?)

Probably Serbia (shades of World League?) do you think they'd play it live or tape delay because Hawai`i has been getting it tape delayed, because the Poland/USA match was played today at like around 11am...sorry I jus wanna watch this game that's why I'm asking

I got to agree- the USA dream ends here and then we can go get some tall setters and good passers for 2012!! I don't know who you're "agreeing" with, because so far no one else on this thread has said what you're saying.

I wonder what Italy thinks of it's "draw". Any reaction seen/heard by Euro Volleytalkers? By the old system they would have drawn 3rd place China, before Chinese fans; instead they get a 2nd place American team they have owned the last few years. Seems like USA is the only one really moaning over the draw, and maybe I'm the only American doing that, and even then we get to avoid Brazil in the second round if USA somehow wins.

They tape delay everything three hours rather than actually showing it live, even though really we have a better live viewing window than the east coast. I have mainly watched CBC instead -- which actually is live when it claims to be live.

Way to go USA & China to upset the FIVB seeding!!!
If the seeds held, Cuba should be playing Italy and China vs. Brazil. Instead, the true 2nd best team from Pool A now has to play the #1 team from Pool A.
It will definitely be a different match vs. Cuba in two days.

Looks like Pool A was the more difficult pool.
