Although it looks like it's raining cats and dogs, Bob Costas confirmed that they will indeed be starting the gold medal match soon. Very unfortunate considering just how exciting the women's tournament has been thus far and how nice the weather has been.

I've never seen a beach match in the rain!
Its effecting a lot of plays. Slipping off hands. Kiraly mentioned that it'll be harder for the hitter to look up as the rain hits their face.

It's 8:30 on the west coast. The "live" coverage is no help. Did they actually play the match? I don't want any results- just whether the match was played, and when it started.
