I haven't been able to see a lot of the telecasts but I noticed there is a rotation where Ah Mow-Santos subs out but Berg was still on the bench.
I think Berg went in for Willoughby on the next rotation. Who was setting when Ah Mow-Santos and Berg were both out (Willoughby was serving)?

Haneef-Park or Danielle Scott...I think the idea of that sub is for the ball not to get past the US block....

JLP has tried lots of stuff. She has Willoughby and Ah-Mow santos share a spot and Haneef-Park and Berg share a spot. This keeps Ah-Mow santos setting Haneef-Park and Berg setting Willoughby. She has subbed out Ah-Mow Santos and keeping Haneef-Park in the backrow when she wanted Haneef Park to jump serve, but with Berg's jump serve working, she may not do that anymore.
As to who sets, I think in the USA system as well as the international game in general, the middle takes a lot of second balls.

I don't understand why Berg doesn't serve for Haneef. Tougher serve, she's a setter, and she can play defense.
But then again it's been a few years since I coached a team to the Gold Medal match.

She normally does. I think the only reason she didn't against Cuba is that Haneef served two back to back aces very early in set 1.

Agree. Haneef did well from the service line early on, so I guess JLP just wanted her to continue the momentum.
As for the original question, Haneef was serving when Willoughby subbed in the front row for Ah Mow. After Haneef's serving tenure ended, Berg replaced her. Scott would have set if necessary.
