Something to get me through the next 4 years of agony. This helps a little: My fellow citizens – those of you here in this hall and those of you at home – I want you to know that I have always had the highest respect for you, for your common sense and intelligence and for your decency. I have always believed in you and in what you could accomplish for yourselves and for others. And whatever else history may say about me when I'm gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears, to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty's lamp guiding your steps and opportunity's arm steadying your way. My fondest hope for each one of you – and especially for the young people here – is that you will love your country, not for her power or wealth, but for her selflessness and her idealism. May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will make the world a little better for your having been here. May all of you as Americans never forget your heroic origins, never fail to seek divine guidance, and never lose your natural, God-given optimism. *SIGH*

... chip = as usual, without a clue Why, how inspirational and positive of you. I see you've really read and taken to heart the speech you quoted.

I can see you've taken a page from the Ruffda passive-aggressive strategy. Attack a post, then criticize the poster when they retaliate to your attack. Nice.

Ronald Wilson Reagan - now only the second worst President of the United States Ah, I see you miss him too. You know his speech by heart. Come here, I'll give you a hug and make you feel better. Why do people still talk about the 80's today? Because the 80's were GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. Thanks, Gipper, for giving us such a great decade.

If not for Bush 43, Ronny the Ray-gun would go down as the worst President in history. Massive debts that mortgaged the future of our country. Stupid missile defense system. Murdered millions though inaction on AIDs. Slept through cabinet meetings and was most likely senile for much of the last term. Bad actor, but could read a speech well.

I really am trying to work on my outright aggression.
Oh, and Bob is actually quoting Peggy Noonan. Reagan never had a coherent thought in his head, let alone the ability to put it into words.

... LOL. I can see you've taken a page from the Ruffda passive-aggressive strategy. Attack a post, then criticize the poster when they retaliate to your attack. Nice. Why quote a positive and inspirational speech, if in the very post you've already started out with negativity by your prediction of "4 years of agony"? And continue with your negativity when I merely pointed out the irony of your post? Either you are moved and inspired by the speech you quoted, or you didn't really read it or pay much attention to what it was really saying. Your behavior points toward the latter conclusion.

Disco, sheesh, your historical clock is greatly in need of recalibration.

I should be singing the praises of the Carter Administration instead. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! WUT? There are no praises for the Carter Administration? Well...damn...

Why quote it? Simple. I wanna be able to remember something good as I look forward to the bad that is coming down the pipe. There is no irony in that. It is exactly what I intended it to be, you keep fabricating correlations that don't exist outside of your own deluded mind, then you get all pissy about it when people point out the fact that you are one McNugget short of an Extra Value Meal. LOL.
