Quoting from that speech: "May all of you as Americans never forget your heroic origins, never fail to seek divine guidance, and never lose your natural, God-given optimism." Great optimism you have there, looking forward to the bad that is coming. Nope, no irony there at all.

I really am trying to work on my outright aggression. Oh, and Bob is actually quoting Peggy Noonan. Reagan never had a coherent thought in his head, let alone the ability to put it into words. Gawd, I LOVED her when she was in the Monkees. Wrote some great tunes, too! I believe you're thinking of Peggy Naismith. Invented basketball.

Oddly enough, when Caddyshack plays on cable, they edit out the last night. I'll admit, I never really understood why.
