1. Bought more house than they knew they could afford.
2. Financed it with ARMs that they knew they couldn't pay when the monthy payments skyrocketed after 3 or 5 years.
3. Speculated with your primary residence that was suposed to be the place where you and your family called home
4. Were too stupid to realize that you can't flip a 600k house that is worth only 275k and sell it for 800k in 2 years

Obama is going to bail you out.

(note this post is NOT directed at the truly distressed homeowners who, through no fault of their own have either been laid off or are unable to make their mortgage payments for legitimate reasons)

Yes..

I believe so.

When you watch on TV and see a student and her boyfriend crying that they are losing their 200,000 plus home..when she is a full time student and he works ONLY part time.

They borrowed money from parents in the belief that they could flip that house 1 year later and pay back loans.

At the time it was working..
Banks made HUGE profits...
People lived and made Huge money without actually risking and DOING ANYTHING.
DID anyone think that it would lat for ever?

Now those of us that lived and paid 30 year loans OFF STAYING WITHIN BUDGETS ..AND ...WITHOUT COUNTING ON ELECTING ANYONE TO BAIL us out get screwed ,by the NEW DEAL.

THE NEW DEAL ...

ELECT politicians who tax others and force them to save us.

Calif. residents will tax the rest of the country so they can live their liberal life style.
It's easy to have that life style when someone else pays the dues.

It's easy to be against something when others pay for your support.

Cater to the inner cities and populations within 50 miles of any major city and SCREW the rest of AMERICA.

Tax those evil rich country conservatives..This is about DIVISION ..plain and simple .

NOT only color Vs. Color ..but states Vs. states..North Vs. south (again) ..with representation and political influences driving the divide.

I frankly could care less if Calif.and MI. fell off the map.

Those living in Calif..NEVER SUPPORTED BUYING AMERICAN and HIRING AMERICA FIRST.
It was excess of everything..all the time.
Hire undocumented workers..DONT pay decent wages or report taxes on them.

Auto unions have killed another industry..yep.. blame BUSH.

Did you hire UNION construction workers who are paid a fair wage and pay taxes..?
No.. EVERYONE went CHEAP.

The auto union and their companies KNOW if they can hang on for a few years there will be a needed turnover of cars over 10 years old. Then they can screw us again with cars that have GPS and fancy sound systems that get 20 mpg.

Politicians KNOW they CAN promise stuff they cannot deliver ..yet the poor folks living on government aid will have no recourse but to accept their words as fact.

I used to drive a 1981 Honda Civic. It was totaled by some kid in Utica who hit it with his equally old American land barge. The kid only had to pull his fender back out, but my car was destroyed.

As for the topic at hand, who gets to decide who the worthy distressed homeowners are versus the unworthy ones? Is Bob supposed to be the final arbiter of who has a "legitimate" reason for being behind on the mortgage payments?

You can bet a number of these deadbeats who are getting the bailout for their houses are also in favor of--and enrolled in subsidized child care. My mom never worked a day outside our home after us kids were born--yet worked like a slave at home to raise us right. Similarly, my wife worked very little outside the home until the kids were older and while I worked at least two jobs, if not three, much of that time, without sending our kids to daycare that someone else paid for in part. Sure it was tough on us at times but we worked through it for the sake of the kids and ourselves. Call it "old school" if you like, but how about 'planned parenthood' where people only have kids they can afford and be totally responsible for them right up until the time they leave home? They're better for it and you can be proud of them instead of worried about when they visit their parole officer next.
