90% hate?
Why is a disagreement of policy called hatred?
Why Does someone coming from Arkansas ..move to New York and then represent them?
oppsie..facts speak volumes.
The south is more conservative..not MORE republican. Rush is not an elected official yet Democrats and liberals fear him? Why?
The far NE is GODLESS and that is a Fact, The south is more Religious..
The far west...is plain broke and corrupt.
What do people on welfare create...?? what will they fight for?
ONLY MORE WELFARE.
you create a nation consisting of Calif..Mi. Illinois..Mn.. and NE. in less than 2 years they would be eating each other.
The rest would be better off without those states...and the idiots that represent them.
and the time of unrest here is growing closer. Go play with your wii..I'll play with my guns.

Franken does have humor--but he isn't different. He makes his money promoting division/hate. Ditto. Only those that agree with Franken would think some of his message is not filled with hate. Many of those on the extreme right are no different.

Well, Franken is different in one respect. He ran for office. I have some more respect for people who are willing to criticize and then engage the system than I do for people who are only willing to mock it from the outside.

Cardcounter/MikeG--actually good points. I hadn't really thought of Franken in that regard--for all of his views, he ran for office and has been 'elected'. It's something that I don't think other pundits will ever do. I guess I have to move Franken up a notch now. #@%@#$!!!!
Gopher--it's either sad or funny that you can't see the hate in what you are posting--or the blanket statements about the Northeast being Godless.

Do you watch any news?
Yesterday in CONN. a bill that would regulate churches by removing priest and Bishops from running their church..
The Bill begins with" In regards to the Roman Catholic church"
Vt. is said to lead he nation with over 40 % not believing in GOD.
The whole gay marriage issue is about man changing religion in order to conform to our rules..not religions.
Take god out of Christmas decorations...like in OREGON.
Remove .."in God we trust " from our documents.
Its not just the NE ..its the whole nation turning away from the Church and God we based our entire Nation upon.
and you Tell me..how has that made us better.?
That's not hate..just disagreement in policy that liberals embrace. Of course ..NOT ALL LIBERALS believe that way..but in general they believe in Government more than God and church.
Conservatives choose to disagree. that is not Hate.

No--actually I don't watch news. I read news. I tend to like reading since it can provide details and go in-depth. TV is nothing more than sound-bytes.
It's fascinating that you capitalize Church...this nation has NEVER had a unified/governmental view of religion. Thank goodness.

Many of those on the extreme right are no different. This is simply not true and if you have read his books, listened to his radio show or listened to his speeches you would know this is not true. He dared to call the rightwing liars liars. That is not the same thing as lying. It is NOT the same thing to react to the BS of rightwing radio as it is to create the BS. It's like saying someone promotes divisiveness and hate because he called the person who punched him a thug. Anyhow, do yourself a favor and look into this yourself.

Straw man. How many does that make today?
Am I promoting divisiveness and hate when I object to BS like this?

To zen..Try reading Washington,Jefferson,Franklin...or the many founding fathers.
CHURCH is considered a house of GOD.
There was a unified view of religion. Now 15% don't believe in GOD..
Up 50% since 1990.
I wonder how many believe in HISTORY?
r..you are just off your game... Any Historian would back me up.
oops..you don't believe in History unless you can manufacture it up yourself. Global warming ... Polar Bears ..and vampires and werewolves..but no GOD.
Its what ever you are seeing at the TIME, and I bet many believe in Vampires ,but no God.
I did see this really hottie last Halloween.
She had fangs. and was a Democrat... looking for my blood.

Bill--it's interesting. You're saying all the Founding fathers had the same faith, yet elsewhere I've got another person arguing that multiple denominations existed in the Founding Fathers--which is it?
And I have read what those guys wrote. I've read the stuff by the professionals who've read what they wrote AND analyzed/researched their lives to provide context around what they wrote.
You do realize that Washington never took communion? Do you understand that significance in the context of 18th century religion? You are aware, too, then (since obviously you've read much of what they wrote) that Jefferson didn't subscribe to the views of any denomination at the time--and indeed wrote that he rejected Jesus as a messiah? --Rejecting Jesus kinda makes being 'Christian' difficult.
As for Franklin, since you know of him--you know that he attended some orgies in his later years and dabbled with the occult. I guess my knowledge of religion is a bit low--which denomination of Christianity hosts orgies?--because I'm looking to be converted and find religion.

The fact that Bill thinks Washington, Jefferson and Franklin were religious men shows how little he can bring to this potluck. Everyone else is offering a main dish. Bill's bringing napkins.

I NEVER SAID they had the SAME FAITH...
They did share a COMMON VIEW that religion was to play a major role in our Nations fabric and well being.. It didn't matter to THEM or ME what religion 's faith you believed in..as long as morality and convictions maintained the moral compass heading going forward.
They allowed for separation of CHURCH and STATE..because their European History showed that the all powerful church running the government and forcing all to believe in ONE RELIGION was a DISASTER.
They believed that government should be run by all walks of man..not just religious ones.
I wonder if the CT bill that was floated yesterday...what would
be the response if CHURCH WAS TO BE PUT IN PLACE OF GOVERNMENT.
Riots?
yet the Bill said GOVERNMENT shall be in charge of the CHURCH.
Now you tell me if that doesn't go beyond separation of CHURCH and STATE?
Do you think that bill would ever see the light of day in the SOUTH..? or Midwest?
Maybe Calif..or NE.
Liberal and godless as charged.

You said they belonged to the same Church. Even if we ignore that in terms of denominations--it's still not true. Jefferson denied the divinity of Jesus--there's NO WAY you can call that the same faith as a 'Christian'--not to mention that each of the Protestant denominations denied the Christianity of the Catholics (and generally vice-versa).
It's not the same church, it's not the same faith.
And again, if it's all the same--give me some directions to the Church with the orgies. I'm thinking that if orgies are part of all this--that church attendance could skyrocket VERY quickly.

Poor Iraqis. Nobody gives a rat's ass about them anymore, I guess.
I should have started a thread called "The Beginning of the VolleyTalk Civil War".
