Typical of everything so far in the Obama administration. Said one thing during the campaign, stops short of actually delivering on his word. "We're gonna get a rescue dog..." Yeah, okay. This "rescue" dog is a purebred dog that someone in the Kennedy clan paid some exclusive breeder megabucks for and then decided they didn't want it, so they "gifted" it to the Obama girls. Yeah, that's a real animal rescue scenario right there. It's one thing to lie to the American public and not deliver what you said you were gonna deliver. It's on an entirely different level to lie to your own kids.

That's the weakest rebuttal in the history of VT.
All you bandwagon buttwipes who were expecting the world after November 4, 2008 are finding out things aren't so different now, are they?

I have to say that I have been extremely happy to have this man as my President.
He's doing a great job.
His _dog_?! Really? REALLY? C'mon, Bob. Can't you find something more important. Like Michele's gardening clothes?

Yeah, okay. This "rescue" dog is a purebred dog that someone in the Kennedy clan paid some exclusive breeder megabucks for and then decided they didn't want it, so they "gifted" it to the Obama girls. Well - I think you got the order wrong or are trying to deliberately obfuscate. The "word on the street" is that this particular dog was purchased by another family (after the Kennedys had already bypassed it and chose another dog from the same litter) and that it didn't get along with another Portuguese water dog in the same household. The breeder was known to be responsible and took the dog back. After that point the Kennedys were notified and then purchased the dog because they thought it might be a good fit for the Obamas. And megabucks may be an overstatement. It's about $2000-3000. If I were to purchase a purebred dog from a reputable breeder, it could easily cost me that much. Dog training could easily cost more than that. The purchase price is only one expense. I was at an airport when I met a guy who had just gotten a hunting dog and flew from Detroit to San Francisco just to bring it back. today.msnbc.msn.com/id/30188436/I was hiking this weekend when I came across a Portuguese water dog. They're absolutely full of energy. I remember back a few years ago comedian Don Novello (Father Guido Sarducci) had this crazy idea that the San Francisco Giants could use dogs to recover baseballs that landed in the water. It actually lasted for a few years before they discontinued it. The breed chosen was indeed the Portuguese water dog. Retrieved balls were then sold at auction for an animal rescue charity. www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2000/06/30/MN42778.DTL

I file this with Sarah Palin's wardrobe or her sister's best friend's daughter's ex-boyfriend once getting a parking ticket for meter feeding -- a non-issue useful only for those who wish to enjoy smug scoffery rather than engage in productive dialogue.

I think there are more important things to worry about than where this dog came from. Leave that up to PETA and the other weirdos...

Hey, just returning the favor that you liberal commie pinkos were doing the previous 6 years on this board.
So, how's that troop withdrawal from Iraq thing going? Thought you guys said he was gonna have everyone home in 6 months?

So Obama authorizes use of deadly force and we pop off 3 Somali pirates and everyone's all farts and flowers about it, huh?
Gee, if this had happened a year ago and GWB made the same executive order, this entire board would have been decrying him for killing innocent Somalis and how badly he had ruined the US's credability in the world.

Right. Obama's dog = Iraq, Katrina, the obliteration of science, the failure in Afghanistan, etc. etc., etc.
You'd almost think you were claiming there was nothing to criticize during the Bush administration, whereas in fact it was the biggest FUBAR in the history of the nation.
Btw, no one claimed, least of all Obama, that troops would be home in 6 months. Can't be done.

First decent president since Carter.
Not true about the Somalis. I have my reservations now and I would have had them then. After all, you make money however you can. Still, they are pirates. Armed pirates. Hard to come up with a lot of sympathy.

First decent president since Carter. And Jimmy Carter was absolutely the best president of the 20th century.
