Fourth Amendment Rights? Hah! Border Patrol has almost unlimited search rights within 100 miles of any border. All because of this supposedly terribly important need to protect us from people whose only crime is wanting to come to this country.

He refused a search, it was my understanding that he would just be sent back to Mexico, and welcomed to get back in the end of the line when he was more cooperative.
I'm not sure what to make of Border Patrol beating priests, when nobody can touch illeagal immigrents or enemy combatants.

I Googled up the guy's church, read their statements of dotrine, etc., and as far I can tell, it couldn't have happened to a better guy.
But even so, it changes nothing about how wrong it is for the border patrol to have these almost unlimited stop and search powers anywhere except at the actual border crossings.

In case you didn't notice, Bill, state laws vary state by state. I have no idea what your state laws are like.
