Maybe Kim Jagd will be the interim head coach for a season, giving the athletic administration more time to do a national search... I don't see that happening at all. You've got PLENTY of time.

my biggest concern is mike sealy applying for the job at UCLA. true, but if UCLA is interested, then this is too big of an opportunity to pass up.

Wow. 43 years.
What a remarkable career....it would be remarkable even if he was just good. But his track record of success at UCLA is incredible.
Won't be the same going to Hec Ed to see UW/UCLA and not see Andy B. at the helm.
Let's see if someone at FSN or ESPNU is smart enough to sign him up and turn him into the John Madden or Dick Vitalle of Volleyball.

Whenever I've had the discussion about the wave of coming retirements (Banachowski, Shoji, Hebert, Haley, etc) UCLA was always the easiest to replace because I think most people assumed that Kim, if she was healthy at the time, would get the job.
However, if two players already left, and others are rumored to be considering it, pehaps the UCLA administration takes a closer look at what the players think/want/think they want and the bruins do a real honest to goodness search.
If not Kim Jagd, I'd like to see UCLA go after Jeritt Elliott (California Kid) and John Speraw (UCLA alum, and he's at Irvine, where both the AD and Volleyball Administrator came from), but its probably more realistic to see Jon Stevenson, Beth Launiere, or Reed Sunahara in there next year.
BTW, does anyone see where it says that UCLA will be conducting a national search for his replacement?

I know Andy does not read this site, so I will send him an email. Congrats to him on an unbelievable career. He is a class guy, a good coach, and has run a top program forever. This last incident with the transfers will not tarnish his great career. The Pac 10 will miss him, though I am sure that UCLA will attract a top coach.

Who applies for the position and who gets hired depends upon what the UCLA administration is willing to offer.
Everyone assumes Banachowski's replacement will inherit a primo job with mucho dinero in salary, when in reality the current environment for athletics in the entire UC system may well dictate that this is a good situation for the AD and the athletic department to save some money by offering an initial package that is well below what Banachowski made this year, and may not even be comparable to what other top D1 coaches at other big schools are already making.
So, given that scenario, if UCLA lowballs the position, there is no way Elliott, Speraw, or any of these other high-flying coaches named in this thread so far will even consider applying.

Very important point. UCLA is not going to offer the world to the next coach. They don't have the money.
