I came across a great find of terrific professional photos at Getty images, so I thought you'd like to see them. If you have some really good photos please share them too. But let's make them extraodinary. The photos have to be on a web site in order to post them here. You can upload them to a photo hoting site like Photobucket or Image Shack. These photos can be found on Getty's site at: editorial.gettyimages.com/ (Type "ucla v ucsb volleyball" in the search window.) They were taken by Donald Miralle. He has other great photos at: www.sportsshooter.com/members.html?id=341Chris Pena, UCLA '04 Paul Johnson, UCLA '04 Steve Klosterman, UCLA '04 Mike Nelson, UCSB '04 Nate Wack, UCSB '04 Jake Wiens, UCSB '04 Brian Berman, UCSB '04 Brian Berman, UCSB '04

Here's a shot that's appearing in the new edition of VB Magazine. It was taken by Steve Scheftic

Those are really great photos taken from a perspective that you don't normally get to see for volleyball.

i would like to know how the heck the photographer got these images. Does UCLA or UCSB have gyms with rafters to take pictures like this. Anybody know

He climed up in the rafter. Here's his email. He responds, and sells prints. donald.miralle@gettyimages.com

They Pyramid used to have a good vantage point in the ceiling for photographers, but the fire marshall made them take it down. Here is a link to Matt Brown's website - he has sports photos for several Cal State schools: mattbrownphoto.com/buy3.htmlYou can look at them without buying them.

Awesome post, mom--nice pics. I've always liked Brian Berman's crazy swing...he gets my vote for best form. Check out how far he pulls his right shoulder back--insane amount of trunk rotation, torque. If you've ever seen him play, he's as skinny as a stick but can put major heat on the ball. His body will most likely hate him the most later in life though

One more reason to not like BYU... they are Ford fans.
What the hell is #8 going to do with that wrench and is that garbage can positioned like that on purpose?? #17, you're holding a volleyball, not a carburetor.
By the way, though. I do appreciate the originality.

BYU has a different theme every year. In 2004 is was a James Bond theme and on the posters the guys were all wearing a tux. Last year's theme wasn't my favorite, but heck it still filled up the fieldhouse.
Great pics Mac.
