SMU has had some very athletic and talented teams in teh recent past. They never seem to reach their full potential.

SMU is very good this year. Tulsa is the team to beat in the league and has a fly under the radar coach. He does a great job every year and has won over 450 matches in 19 seasons. Plus they have the best talent. Rice is good, but up and down right now. Southern Miss returns a lot from last years regular season conference championship team. Tulane and Houston are interesting as they have some good wins or very competitive matches vs. excellent teams. Marshall is also interesting. 11 freshmen and sophomores on their roster has made for a few big ups and a some confusing downs. You need to be more consistent with 20 conference matches.
I pick: 1. Tulsa 2. SMU 3 - 7: Rice, Marshall, Southern Miss, Tuland and Houston.

Tulane's early conference schedule works very much against their young roster. We have SMU on Friday at home. Then travel to Tulsa, which seems to be most people's early conference favorite. The following weekend we travel to Houston for a double header with Rice.
In a perfect scheduling world, we would have these matches at the end of the season, once our pups get a little more seasoned. However, having already faced #1 Stanford and #11 Oregon, at least the girls know what it's like to take the court as underdogs.
Go Green Wave!

Is CBS College Sports bringing any CUSA Volleyball in TV this year? They have for at least the last 4 or 5 years? I know the conference has a contract with them.

I thought I read somewhere that C-USA was trying to start their own network. If that is true, that would account for no C-USA volleyball on CBS College Sports.

Who will remain undefeated in C-USA after this weekend?
Also, how many conference wins will it take to be crowned C-USA champion and get the automatic birth to the NCAA tournament?
15? 16? 17?

Tulsa and Marshall may be the only undefeated in teh league after this weekend. I think Tulsa make a strong run at the schedule and get 18 or 19 wins.

Looks like you are sold on Tulsa, but I'm not so sure. They are definitely among the top teams in conference, but the gap between them & some of the other teams - - I'm not so sure of. Not impressed by their one pre conference schedule. Henderson is great, but a one dimensional offense will catch up with you at some point. Let's see if Henderson can carry the team during conference.

Tulsa is not one-dimensional. Stout was #1 in hitting percentage for a good portion of the year last year before finishing 9th (?) in the country. Defense is top notch with a returning all-american at libero.
Henderson is better than anything else in the league. She can beat any defense even when they know it is going to her.
The question is not can she carry the tea, the question will be more of whether of not she can hold up taking 75 swings every night.
If no for a bad opening weekend last year (second weekend?) they would have been conference champs last year. They have something to prove and they will.

As I mentioned, not impressed by their pre conference schedule where the stats may not reflect what is to come during conference play. And when you mention that the question is whether Henderson can hold up taking 75 swings every match I believe you are verifying my questioning of a one dimensional offense. Her coach needs to make sure he's not hurting her much like some baseball coaches with their pitchers.
