Is anyone else getting random phrases throughout threads being turned into links -- and some of the banner ads auto-redirecting you when scrolling around a page?

Thanks, I thought maybe I had been infected by some advertising malware.
It makes the forum nearly unreadable for me. I've learned to just keep hitting the "ESC" button to stop it from doing the re-directing thing. I tried entirely disabling re-directing in my browser settings, but that breaks the reply/comment feature.

Try changing browsers to Firefox or Chrome and use the Adblock extensions.

I'm not seeing this behavior in either Firefox or Opera.
O&U, I thought you used Opera?
Maybe it has to do with the board settings. I have images and sigs and stuff turned off.

These are tied to the banner ads displayed at the top of each page.
What will happen is a page will load, and then within a second or two after the browser fully renders the page, it behaves exactly the same as if it were executing a re-direct Javascript or the old meta-refresh tag in HTML, and the browser moves forward to a blank white page containing only the banner ad from the VT page you had just tried to look at.
I will look at the page source to find out the current domain the ads (I presume Google ads like 90% of the web) are being served from, and try to disable javascripting just from that domain..... hmmm.. that does seem to have an effect.
SO...
Symptoms which suggest this might be a spyware/adware infection on my computer: -the sudden onset of symptoms could coincide with an infection. -affects all browsers on this computer -other computer using same OS/browser combination does not exhibit the behavior. -is clearly tied to advertising and links to pre-formatted keyword searches.
Symptoms which suggest this is not due to malware on my computer: -bigfan reports similar symptoms (although we must entertain the possibility we both have the same infection). -behavior ONLY occurs on VolleyTalk. I have even tried browsing other ProBoards forums. -can be prevented by altering scripting behavior within browser (unlikely if external application were triggering the adlinks/redirects). -is not re-directing to gambling, porn, free iPods, or Viagra, but simply re-displaying the legitimate partner ads from the VolleyTalk banners.

It turns out the problem I'm having is caused by banner ads which use Flash.
I do have my screen set at a funky resolution and the fonts set to a non-standard size. What is apparently happening is that ads which use Flash to loop/refresh themselves are being rendered into an attribute space which is larger than their pixel space. What this means is that page-drawing, scrolling, and clicking actions aren't just interacting with the base html of the VolleyTalk page, but are also interacting with the flash animations in the ads. This leads to seemingly random actions where the Flash-based ads appear to take over the behavior of the page.
SOLUTION: I disabled Flash for VolleyTalk, and have been just fine since then. I don't know of any features of the site itself which depend on Flash, so it's a simple fix at this point in time.

Flash is evil. Even if it was developed thanks to a volleyball guy.

Flash is evil. Even if it was developed thanks to a volleyball guy. Really? I will have to go look up who invented flash! Hmm. I agree FLASH is evil. I want to watch things on my iPhone, but I can't because they are in flash.
