With this line-up, I'd rather have a pass-first L2 and I'm not sure Vanjak is the answer. Granted, not sure that Brown is either. But with Hodson, Lutz and hopefully Fitzmorris and Plummer on board, we'll have plenty of firepower. We'll just need passing to execute. For those who have seen Plummer, how does she compare to other 6-5+ opposites (Pavan, Licht, and Brokehuis of Nebraska, DeHoog of Washington)? I'm going to opine that Plummer (indoors) playing RS (and not the setter position) should have a Kerri Walsh look and feel. She should be a very strong hitter, a BIG block, and have balls skills to set almost any type of set in an emergency (including one sets to the MB like Walsh did in the days of yore). +1 for using opine. Plummer is pretty hard to compare with previous opposites. I won't say she will have the same force Pavan and a healthy Walsh had quite yet (let's be real...they were an another level) Maybe a Blair Brown physicality with hints of a young Kerri overall skill set? She brings a super physical and great overall aspect to the game. She's getting better and better every year both indoor and beach. She has the potential to be a very scary player. Also, I can't for certain just yet, but I think Vanjak has the potential for a significant role but I'd be pretty surprised if she ended up being the starting outside.

BINGO ... she is money digging balls off the floor and delivering optimum passes into zone 3 near the net. All indications are that Stanford is her #1 choice ... but she needs to clear admissions.

What position would she be playing? Libero? Middle. Hey, if Dominique Thompson can play middle... why not? Good balance between her and Lutz that will throw teams off. But is that good enough to beat PSU? Well...

I'd say Attar is looking good for Stanford.

Any footage of Attar out there? Someone mentioned she hits a heavy ball.

Any footage of Attar out there? Someone mentioned she hits a heavy ball. I haven't seen any, but like Lexi Sun you probably need to find a teammate on her club team who has online videos. In Sun's case, if you google "Madison Linxmiller Coast" you will find some decent video of Sun.

One Google image search of Attar should yield an interesting photo for Stanford fans.

One Google image search of Attar should yield an interesting photo for Stanford fans. Some video of Attar, but admittedly not much of a look. She is #8 playing for "17 Tampa" out of the Tampa United Volleyball Academy, her club team. Hopefully there will be more as 17 Tampa's tournament schedule starts picking up steam.

Can't wait until March 20th. I'll be at the MEQ in Indianapolis. I just checked out the team list and 4 potential recruits are scheduled to be playing there in the 17s Open
Fitzmorris and Gray for Invasion Attar for TUVA Hentz for NKYVC

Bags, Stanford fans will be expecting a full report from you on that tournament. Little is known about Gray, Attar or Hentz.

Thanks for the video hammer. It is hard to tell much except Attar looks about 5'10" tall. I have to be skeptical about sub 6' front row players until they prove otherwise. Fans can point out a handful of short players successful at the highest levels of DI. But what they don't seem to appreciate is for the one 5'10" player who beats the odds there are at least a hundred 5'10" hitters who were stars in high school but never made it to the upper levels of DI. Hopefully Attar can prove my skepticism misplaced.
