A shocker. I was expecting she'll be a Trojan. Mick must be crying right now. Kidding aside, USC still has Lanier. As for Stanford, I've never seen Lexi as a Cardinal recruit. Just I have that feeling.

Don't get me wrong, I have the UPMOST respect for dunning and he would be my absolute first choice if he wanted the Hawaii job after Dave Shoji Retires. But, I just think recruiting to stanford is a lot easier than recruiting to texas. Texas is a marvelous school with a huge athletic budget, but it doesn't have the name value and academics stanford does But let's say you are not that academically inclined (or want to take your academics down a notch) and you are looking for a top volleyball school. Under that criteria, Texas is a good choice. True. Its a double edged sword. You have top recruits who qualify and that would be a first choice, but you also have the ones that don't, (ross) or don't think they can handle it. It can be a deterrent or a friend.

I don't really expect her to change her mind, but it is a year and a half before Lexi Sun can sign an LOI, right?

I am thinking about sending Elliott some roses. Not to put salt on the wound, but I am sure this is a sigh of relief for a lot of Penn State fans.

Should Penn State be happy to lose out to Texas with this recruit? Well, a team with Hodson, Plummer, Fitz (maybe), Sun, and Hentz, would be ridiculously good. As for Texas, even though Elliott is a great recruiter, I can live with his coaching. But for me, would have loved to see Sun in Penn State uniform. Since that didn't happen, glad she didn't join the Stanford's monster team.

Just I have that feeling. I couldn't picture Sun at Stanford, just based on how their recruits tend to be fully formed by the time they step on campus. Sun will not be passing dimes from day one in Austin but I hope Elliot gets her to point where she'll be a good all around player.

I'm sure there might be a few good outsides in that '17 class.

With the redshirts, don't we only have 1 scholarship available for 2017?

Yes One opening in 2017 but 4 in 2018.

I will start worrying for 2017 after the rumored 2016 recruits will commit. Right now, Stanford is very vulnerable because the top 2 uncommitted players are getting a lot of looks from other coaches.

Yes and there is no way to know if they are leaving their options open until an admissions decision or if they truly have not made up their mind. The optimistic way to look at it is if another school is their #1 choice there is nothing to stop them from verbally committing.
