Not sure I'd peg Hodson as the most "complete" player in this class, let alone ever. Smith is probably the most "complete" OH out of the gate and Foecke's got a high ceiling. Hodson is a superb mix of both qualities.

Passing and defense is not great just yet for Hodson but I can see improvement already. But she isn't the most complete player like mentioned above. But she will be very good. Very excited to see her play in the fall. This talk of the most complete, yards yada yada is giving me too much déjà vu! Let's not Barboza her into failure. If she doesn't produce 5 kpg hitting .400 with 3 dpg people will be disappointed. It is unfortunate some of the hype has gotten out of control. Not fair to Hodson. I can already see some backlash on Volleytalk. Hodson is an above average passer for a prep player. She is not close to the level of Burgess for passing and digging. Hodson is a very good hitter at the prep level. She is not going to dominate the Pac-12 her freshman year.

I didn't know Crider left. Of course from volunteer to I would guess a paid job. Any one know who replaced him?

Foeke was never mentioned in the conversation for most complete player. She was mentioned as the prep player with the highest ceiling/potential.

Bobbk, did you apply for the open coaching position? I heard many people inquired about it.

Which is why I didn't say she was, merely noting Foecke's potential for growth in this class.

I like her more than hodson. When I first saw hodson play I wasn't overly excited like some people were on here.

Another SCVA tournament.
I was impressed with Halland McKenna. When I was watching she had solid passing, some nice digs, good coverage of tips and blocks. McKenna has made big strides in understanding the libero position. She will give Benjamin a challenge for a role on the starting team.
Today was the best I have seen Lexi Sun play. When I was watching her hitting was a level above everyone else. You had to block her because there was no way to dig out her hits. Sun's timing of her approach and jump consistently got the most out of less than ideal sets. It is hard to believe she is a sophomore. Sun is going to be really good by the time she gets to college.
I was talking to a relative of Alyse Ford. I didn't realize Ford was definitely interested in Stanford in the early phases of her recruitment by colleges. Decided she didn't want to wait for a decision from admissions. It makes me wonder how many elite players Stanford has lost out on because they didn't want to wait.

Yeah, Stanford's recruiting is really suffering.
