So how does the USAV champ stack up against the AAU champ? I would pick TAV and Tstreet to beat SPVB. I think SPBV holds their own with everyone else at this point in the year. Coast might be better too, but depends on Sun. I wouldn't bet much money on that game. Coasts success was directly related to the way Lexi played and Lexi alone lol. If she's passing bad, then the team hurts. If she's not getting kills her team struggled offensively, just based on my observations over the Gjnc time. She was almost their only offensive weapon.. TAV should've ran their middle more against Tstreet if they wanted to win. Tstreet was struggling earlier in pool play against the slide and middle attack.

Kendra Dalhke is an equally big part of the Coast offense and is adept at serve receive and middle back. She's headed to Arizona and will have a very nice career in the PAC. Yes, if Lexi is served tough, this can slow their offense, but they are not a one trick pony.

Tstreet or TAV will beat SPRI if they played. Tstreet is hard to beat if you don't pass well because they can put up a wall in the RS. TAV is a different monster, they have very physical middles and very athletic OH. I really believe that TAV was gonna be the first team to win 17's and 18's open back to back

Hodson tournament MVP for 18-open. Plummer and Chang all tournament team. Chang's Laguna team did well. They didn't have Ford for the tournament and I didn't see Ruddins playing in their quarter final match. W/ Ford, Laguna probably would have taken it. She's very explosive offensively. If Ford was still playing for Laguna it would have been a good match. Laguna certainly overachieved in this tournament. What was really surprising is how underrated Chang is as a setter. In the semis against CVC, Laguna, did not have Ruddins to go to and still almost pulled off the victory. Chang used every hot hitter available to keep Laguna close. She will be a great asset for Stanford..

I was going to post earlier how well Chang distributed the ball against CVC. I still think her best chance of court time at Stanford is as a DS. In the CVC match when I was watching 5'8" Halland McKenna was playing OH. Laguna had a number of players out of their normal position. It was surprising how well they did.

I think people were saying Ruddins was injured so maybe Halland played just to fill in? I'm not sure I watched the tstreet match while the other semifinal was on.

Haven't heard from the Keefe Twins. Are they Stanford-bound? Or are we done with Plummer-Fitz-Hentz-Gray Class of 2016?

I really hope Stanford has someone on their radar in terms of an elite Outside hitter in 2017. Maybe someone for 2018 but that's a long way to go. Hopefully whoever fills in does a good job possibly Vanjak/Brown/Alade. Maybe some rising stars will consider Stanford to complement Hodson.

Don't expect an announcement from Michaela Keefe for a couple months. My guess is her sister will also be coming to Stanford.

Don't know about a public commit for the Keefes but they are very very committed.
