Are stanfordvb and gavinpeters the same person? Both seem peculiarly enamored with Jenkins.

Was going to comment roughly a page ago that putting info out - w/out the corroborating "street cred" to back it up, factually - is just blindfolded darts: a game which is randomly hit-or-miss. The authenticity of reported information needs to be shown. Much of these postulations, rumors and speculations seem to be just that! Iow, letting rumor-reporting "fly" without backing. Imo, paying attention to the AWESOME recruits coming in next season is focus #1; #2 is 2020; #3: '21.

Can we guess that #4 is '22? Or is #4 where to eat dinner tonight? Are stanfordvb and gavinpeters the same person? Both seem peculiarly enamored with Jenkins. Could be; who knows? The topic about Jenkins is a bit appalling. She’s 5’9 and although she is fundamentally sound as a setter, I don’t think she is going to beat Xu or the rumored Stanford-bound Miner.
This is exactly the same scenario with Katie Oleksak (CSU rams) 3 years ago.. came from a powerhouse AZ storm team with Lanier and Stivrins but because of her size but won’t be setting for a top 5 team.

Huh? Oleksak is no smaller than Haddock or Hames and both of those setters were in the final four.

Yeah, she appears to be about the same size as Hames and has a pretty good vertical (based upon what I remember from her visit to Maples Pavilion slightly over a year ago).

Oleksak is a very, very good blocker for a setter, better than many who are 6'+. Her floor defense is the actual issue (she also didn't have her best season on the whole this year, but I think she was banged up).
As for the recruit under discussion, I don't think height matters much if you're a setter in the same class as Miner.

She is not that small, like 5’9 and jumps pretty well. She is far better than multiple of the setters pv has ahead of her. She clearly was not too small for a top 5 school because ultiple top schools offered her to committ. She is a top student but she wanted Stanford from what everyone connected to her club said. Stanford was pushed out of the picture when it wasn’t gonna work. She is very good and could start for Brown easily right now. Any idea why "it wasn't gonna work" with Stanford? From what Im reading and from the fact that she chose Brown, it seems like she could've at least walked on to Stanford. If she were looking for playing time at a top program, why Brown?? Wasn’t going to work in a sense of court time. Xu committed a year ahead of her and miner is set to committ as well. Also, for whichever poster commented on just putting things out there with nothing to back it up, everything I have heard about Jenkins has been from otva club members (where she played until this season) and many other Florida club ve players. So unless they are all lying then what I have said ab her should be credible.

Today I was at Momentous Volleyball Club for the SCVA 18s mandatory #1. Kendall Kipp was playing OPP when I was watching and was dominating as usual. I don’t know if playing right side was her club coach filling a need on the team or Hambly had some influence about it.
I started watching Kipp at tournaments about two years ago. She has improved her hitting mechanics; contacting the ball at the maximum height possible and better vertical jump.
At my peril I will make some comparisons to Plummer. Kipp is quicker and more mobile. Kipp is more consistent in her back row hitting. I have high expectations for Kipp hitting out of the back row in September. Plummer has a far wider selection of shots at this point and is more savvy in reading the block.
A healthy Kipp is going to be on the court her freshman season. I don’t know what the lineup will be but it will include Kipp.
I saw Berty play for the first time since last April. She looks in better physical condition and her passing has improved.

I think Plummer was hindered a little by spending a lot of reps setting. Although Plummer’s improvement from her early junior year of prep (I remember when she was consistently getting blocked at crossroads) to First Team All American OH has been a pleasure to watch. I’m very excited about Kipp. She reminds me of some sort of hybrid between Plummer and Fitz but quicker and a tad shorter. Can’t wait to see her on the court

I can definitely see Sam Francis transitioning from MB to pin hitter, similarly to Kendall Kipp. She's already a primary passer for her HS team and looks good swinging from the pins. She could be a dominant player at 6'5''. Hope Stanford gets her. Sami doesn’t move nearly as well as Kipp did as a freshman. She is slower and doesn’t have an aggressive hard hitting attack. If she plans on transitioning it has to be soon bc she currently lacks fundamentals and fluidity Here is a recent clip of Francis (#17, Coast 16-1) playing for her club team- she played OPP in set 1 and had 6 kills on 9 swings with 1 error. I agree she still has a lot to work on, including adding strength, but the potential is scary. Maybe a better comparison is Fitzmorris. If she commits to Stanford, I see her training at OPP especially with Campbell, Vicini, and likely A. Smith and L. Smith already in the middle. She has a particularly nice kill inside the 10 foot line @ 11:36
